AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance prescribing the fora of water scrip and directing
the City Treasurer to reeetve the same in payment of water rates
under certain reetrietions.
Be it oreained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
Saetion 1. In all eases where the City Treasurer is authorized
and directed by the City Council by ordinance or resolution to issue
water scrip upon the payment of special taxes for the improvement or
extension of the water works system of Salt Lake City, or upon the
payment of any sum or sums;of money to the City Treasurer for such
improvement or extension,,,the City Treasurer is authorized and
is directed to issue said water scrip to the person or persons making
sneh payment in the for provided in this ordinance.

mentioned in Section One of this ordinance in the form of a
certificate signed by the City Treasurer, and shall show on its fame
the amount for which the scrip is issued, the date of issuance, the
person to whom issued, and shall contain an adequate description of
the property upon which the special tax or other payment is made.
It shall also state upon its face that such scrip will be received
for the payment of water rates for water used only upon the premises

Section 3. water scrip shall be issued for 80% of the payment
mentioned in Section One of this ordinance in the form of a certif-
boats signed by the City Treasurer, and shall show on its face the

amount for which the scrip is issued, the date of issuance and the
person to whom issued. It shall also state upon its face that such
f scrip will be received for the payment of water rates for water used
upon any premises within Salt hake City.
Section 4. The water scrip described in Section 2 of this
ordinance shall be received by the City Treasurer in payment of
lwater rates for water used only on the premises described in such
water scrip. The water scrip described in Section 3 of this

ordinance shall be received by the City Treasurer in payment of
water rates for water used on any premises in Salt Lake City. All
water scrip provided for by this ordinance shall be non-interest
bearing and shall not be received in payment of any fine, toll, tax,
fee, assessment or debt due Salt Lake City, except as in this
ordinance provided.
Section 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances inconsistent
herewith, and particularly Section 4 of an ordinance abolishing the
office of Assessor and Collector of Water Rates, and providing for
the assessment and collection of the same, passed by the City
Council March 27th 1894, and which became a law without the signature
of the Mayor, and an ordinance entitled "An ordinance authorizing
the City Treasurer to issue water scrip upon the payment of assess-
ment for improvement or extension of the water works system, and
directing the City Treasurer to receive said scrip in payment of
eater`,rates in certain oases", passed February 26th,19O8, and
Approved, by the Mayor February 28th,19O2, are hereby repealed.
Section 8. This ordinance snail take effect upon approval.
