That Section 9 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1903, be, and the same hereby is amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows: SECTION 9. ABANDONING AND SELLING SICK OR DISABL'ND ANIMALS. DOCKING MOMS' TAILS. LEAVING ON STRBST MORN THAN FIVE 30BRS. It shall be unlawful for any person to abandon or turn out at large any sick, diseased or disabled animal, bait such animal shall, when rendered worthless by reason of sickness or other disability, be by the owner thereof killed and disposed of as provided by these ordinances for the disposition of dead animals within the city limits. It shall be the duty of police officers to kill and dispose of any animals found running at large within the city limits, or which may be impounded in the astray pounds of this city, which are worthless from sickness, disease or other disability. It shall be unlawful for any person to receive or offer for sale, or to sell at public or private sale within the limits of Salt Lab City, any diseased, disabled or lame animal, It shall be unlawful for any person to lead, ride or drive on any street of this city, for any purpose, except that of conveying to a proper place for its humane keeping or killing, or for medical or surgieal treatment, any diseased, debilitated lame or emaciated animal. It shall be unlawful for any person to out, or assist in the cutting, within the limits of this city, of the bone of the tail of any horse for the purpose of docking the tail, or for any person to oause or knowingly perwit the same to be done upon the premises of which he i&the owner, lessee, proprietor -2- or user, within this City, and the fact that a horse is found with its tail so cut, end with the wound resulting from such cutting unhealed, upon the premises of any person in this City, such fact shall be piima facie evidence that the person who oc- cupies or has the use of the premises upon which the horse is so found, has committed such offense, and if a horse is found with its tail so cut, and the wound resulting from such cutting unhealed, in the charge or custody of any person in this City, such fact shall be prima facie evidence that the person having charge or custody of such horse has admitted such offense. It stall be unlawful for any person being the owner of, or having charge, custody or control of any animal to allow the same to remain standing, fastened or otherwise, on any of the streets of Salt Lake City for a longer period than five hours of any one day. Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than two hun- dred and ninety-nine (0299.00) dollars, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by both such fine and imprison- ment. SMCTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. MICTION 3.
