An ordinance emending Section 19 of an ordinance entitled "An
ordinance regulating the running of motor busses over the streets
of Salt Leke City, requiring and providing for the licensing there-
of, fixing the amount of license fees to be paid thereon, requiring
bonds, regulating the operation thereof, and providing penalties
for the violation of any of the provisions hereof", passed by the
Boar of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, March 24, 1915.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 19 of an ordinance entitled "An
ordinance regulating the running of motor busses over the streets
of Salt Lake City, requiring and providing for the licensing there-
of, fixing the amount of license fees to be paid thereon, requiring
bonds, regulating the operation thereof, and providing penalties
for the violation of any of the provisions hereof", passed by the
Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, March 24, 1915, be, and
the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
SECTION 19. In order to insure the safety of the public,
it shall be unlawful for the owner of any motor bus to drive
or operate or permit the same to be driven or operated, or for
any person to drive or operate a motor bus unless such owner,
operator or driver shall have given, and there is in full
force at all times while such motor bus is being driven or
operated, on file in the office of the City Recorder of Salt

Lake City, a bond in the/sum of $2500.00, with private
individuals as sureties, who shall qualify as provided in
Section 3493 of the Compiled Laws of Utah of 1907, or with a
reliable and responsible corporate surety company authorized
to do business in the State of Utah, as surety, which bond
shall have been approved by the Board of Commissioners of Sal
lake City, end which bond shall run to Salt Lake City and
which shall inure:
1. To the benefit of any passenger or passengers. in suo.
motor bus who may receive bodily injuries and to the heirs of
any passenger or passengers who may suffer death by reason of
the negligenoe or misconduct on the part of the driver, oper-
ator or owner of such motor bus;
2. To the benefit of any person or persons who may re-
ceive bodily injuries and to the heirs of any person or perso s
who may suffer death by reason of the negligence or misoonduo
on the part of the driver, operator or owner of such motor bu• ;
3. To the benefit of any person or persons who may sus-
tain damage by reason of any injury to his or their personal
property by reason of the negligence or misconduct of the
driver, operator or owner of such motor bus.
When a person, firm or corporation shall operate more
than one motor bus, such bond may be given for the penal sum
of $20,000.00 with the conditions above named.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication. �.
