Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE LIMITS OF SALT LAKE CITY.
WHEREAS, on Aug. 9 and Oct. 30th, 1923, the Hayes Land
Company and Parley Corporation of the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day saints, the owners of the real property in the tract
of land hereinafter described, signed and filed with the City
Recorder of Salt Lake City petitions Nos. 603 and 856, respective-
ly, requesting that said tract of land be taken within the limits
of Salt Lake City and be made a part of said city, and also caused
an accurate map and plat of said tract of land to be made and
certified to by a competent surveyor and approved by the city en-
gineer to be filed with the city recorder; and
WHEREAS, the said treat of land is contiguous to Salt
Lake City and there is no proper reason why it should not be
annexed to, and made a part of, said city; and
WHEREAS,the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
after examining said petitions of said owners of said tract of
land, and considering the circumstances thereof, voted by unanimous
vote of all members of said board in favor of annexing said tract
to Salt Lake City and directed the city attorney to prepare an
ordinance making and declaring said annexation:
/HEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners
of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the city limits of Salt Lake City be, and
the game are hereby extended and enlarged so as to include the fol--

lowing described tract of land in balt'Lake County, to-wit:
Beginning S. 0° 27' W. 166.65 feet and N. 89°
30' N. 33.0 feet from the North Quarter corner of Section
22, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., Salt Lake Base and Meridian; thence
N. 89° 30' W. 1685.44 feet; thence 5. 0° 41' 30" W. 2346.0
feet; thence S. 88° 53' E. 736.65 feet; thence S. 1° 09'
684.10 feet; thence S. 81° 34' 30" E. 490.05 feet;
thence S. 0° 25' 30" 4. 99.0 feet; thence 6. 73° 39' 30"
E. 500,88 feet; thence N. 0° 27' E. 3341.28 feet to the
place of beginning, containing 109.38 acres and situated
in the West half of Section 22, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., Salt
Lake Base and Meridian.
And be it further ordained and declared that when this
• ordinance takes effect, the said tract of land above described
shall thenceforth be within the corporate limits of said Salt Lak
City, and be a part of said city; and all ordinances, jurisdic-
tions, rules and obligations of or pertaining to said Salt Lake
city are extended over and made applicable and pertinent to the
said tract of land, and the streets, blacks, alleys and ways of
said tract shall be controlled and governed by the ordinances,
rules and regulations of said City in that behalf, and the monu-
ments of the City Engineer shall thenceforth be taken therein as
the standard of locations and Iistances.
SECTION 2. Upon the passage of this ordinance the City
Recorder of Salt Lake City shall file, and he is hereby directed
to file with the County Recorder, a copy of the map and plat abov'
mentioned, duly certified and acknowledged as provided in such
cases, together with a certified copy of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners
it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the City that
this ordinance shall become effectively immediately.
SEOTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
