AN ORDINANCE AMENDING those portions of Section 14-1-1 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the grade classifica-
tion for firemen and the salaries to be fixed by the Board of Commissioners
for firemen in the Salt Lake City Fire Department.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That that portion of Section 14-1-1 of the Revised Ordin-
ances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the grade classifications
for firemen, be, and the same hereby is, amended by deleting therefrom 5th
Grade and 6th Grade classifications so as to read as follows:
"Sec. 14-1-1. Organization and salaries. (1) * * *
"Firemen:
1st Grade
2nd Grade
3rd Grade
4th Grade
"Master Mechanic

SECTION 2. That that portion of Section 14-1-1 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the salaries to be fixed by the
Board of Commissioners for firemen in the Salt Lake City Fire Department, be,
and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 14-1-1. Organization and salaries. (1) * * *
"(2) * * *
"Firemen - 1st Grade - $5,760.00, provided that from and after
five years and ten years and fifteen years of satisfactory service
as a fireman 1st grade, the annual salary shall be not more, re-
spectively, than $5,940.00 and $6,120.00 and $6,300.00.
"2nd Grade - $5,280.00
"3rd Grade - $4,980.00
"4th Grade - $4,620.00

SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is neces-
sary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City,
Utah, that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
25th day of May, 1965.
