AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1972, of Chapter LXIV,
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, relating to service
pipes and connections.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That Section 1972, of Chapter LXIV, Devised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, be and the same is hereby
amended to read as follows:
SECTION 1972. SERVICE PIPE. CURB BOX CHARGE FOR
CONNECTION. The service pipes and connections from the main
to the curb line, including a curb box and a curb cock to be
placed within the line of the street curb, will be put in and
maintained by the city water department, and kept within its
exclusive control, for which the following charges, payable
in advance, shall be made:
For a 5/8-inch connection . . . .. 44.00
For a .-inch connection 16 00
For a 1-inch connection 21.00
Charges for other size connections and all work done by
the department of water supply and water worka, including
cutting and replacing pavement where necessary, shall be
:Nixed by the commissioner of water works at the actual cost
for work done. Where an old service pipe is replaced by a
new service pipe of a larger size the charge shall be the

same as for the installation of a new service pipe, and
in all cases the service pipe from the curb box to the
premises to beysupplied with water, shall be of the same
size as the service pipe outside the curb box.
SEOTTON 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty-
one days after its passage.
