Finch Green 1 Mr. Chairman.. j Result RDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMuNDING an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 12, 1923, desig- nating and setting aside a certain pprtion of Salt Lake City as a residence district and preventing the erection, construction, operation or maintenance of certain businesses therein, by adding in and to said ordinance a new Section to be known as Section 2X. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That an ordinance passed by the Board of Com- missioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, on March 12, 1923, designating and setting aside a certain portion of Salt Lake City as a residence district and preventing the erection, construction, operation or maintenance of certain businesses therein, be and the same is hereby amended by adding in and to said ordinance a new section to be known as Section 2X, which shall read as follows: SECTION 2X. Provided that stores,'bu tnocc and mar ket buildings, otrueturco, or places for the sale at retail of,moats, poultry, flail,. foodstuffs, drugs, notions and sundries may be erected in the following district, to-wit: "Commencing at a point 125 feet north of the S.N. corner of Blk. 1, Plat "A", Salt Lake City Survey, run- ning thence east 2458.5 ft. to a point 5 rods east of the east line of 5th East Street, thence south 257 ft. to the south line of 9th South Street, thence east 1204.5 ft.; thence north 257 ft. to a point 125 feet north of the north line of 9th South Street, thence east. 957 ft. to the west line of 8th mast Street, thence south 382 ft. to a point 125 ft. south of the -2- I south line of 9th South Street, thence west 4620 ft. to the east line of and East Street, thence north 382 ft. to the place of beginning. Provided, however, that said buildings and structures are set back to the average alignment of existing buildings 200 feet on either side of proposed building within the same block. vithere no build- ings exist on the same side of the street, the existing building opposite side of street shall govern. Provided further, that all buildings shall be not less than 15 feet from the property line. One street frontage only of a corner lot shall be exempt from these provisions except that in such event the building on that side shall be set back not less than 10 feet from property line, unless the average alignment of adjoining building is less than 10 feet_, in which event the building may be constructed on the average alignment of adjoining buiildings. SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall take effect immediately.
