AN ORDINANCE Result AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4303 of Chapter %LI of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances passed by the Board of Commissioners on May 24, 1944, June 21, 1945, February 26, 1946, January 23, 1947, and January 28, 1948, relating to parks and public property. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That Section 4304 of Chapter XLI of the Re- vised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1944, as amended by ordinances passed by the Board of Commissioners on May 24, 1944, June 21, 1945, February 26, 1946, January 23, 1947, and January 28, 1948, relating to parks and public property, be and the same is hereby further amended to read as follows: ""SEC.4304. ASSISTTANT MANAGER OF PARKS, DUTIES, EMPLOYEES. T'he Board of Commissioners may employ the following officers, clerks and employees in the department of parks and public property at salaries not to exceed the following, to-wit: One assistant manager of parks and_public property at a salary not to exceed $2250.00 per annum. It shall be the duty of the assistant manager of parks and public property to assist the manager of Parks and Pub- lic Property in the supervision of the work, care, mainte- 11. nance, improvement and beautifying of the parks in Salt Lake City not under the control, care and supervision of some other officer, and to do and perform such other services as shall be required of him by the commissioner of parks and public property. One chief clerk at not to exceed $2790 per annum. Such supervision of playgrounds, such florists, employees 46 -2- and laborers as may be necessary, and at such salaries and for such terms as the board of commissioners may determine. And shall furnish and provide such equipment as may be neces- sary for the proper care, maintenance, improvement and beauti- fication of the parks and public property of the city." SECTION 2. In the opinion ofnthe Board of Commissioners, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective inmiediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
