AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Title 32 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake
City, Utah, 1955, relating to public offenses by adding thereto a new section
to be known as Section 32-1-69, entitled "Depositing Printed Matter Upon
Vehicles Prohibited."
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Title 32 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1955, relating to public offenses, be, and the same hereby is amended,
by adding thereto a new section to read as follows:
"Sec. 32-1-69. Depositing printed matter upon vehicles prohibited.
It shall be unlawful for any person to distribute, deposit, place,
throw, scatter or cast, or cause to be distributed, deposited,
placed, thrown, scattered or cast, any handbill, circular, card,
booklet, placard or other printed or written matter of any type,
except notice of parking violations together with an envelope
for the payment thereof, in or upon any automobile or other
vehicle. The provisions of this section shall not be deemed to
prohibit the handing, transmitting or distributing of any non-
commercial printed or written matter to the owner or other
occupant of any automobile or other vehicle who is willing to
accept the same."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, it is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
7th day of July, 1964.
