AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 25-10-2 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to automobile
mileage allowance for city employees.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-10-2 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to automobile
mileage allowance for city employees, be, and the same hereby is,
amended to read as follows: ttg
"Sec. 25-10-2. Automobile expenses for/officers and employees.
All officers and employees except members of the board of com-
missioners and the city auditor who are authorized to use and
who do use privately-owned automobiles for official city business
shall be reimbursed for their operating expenses of said auto-
mobiles at the rate of fourteen cents per mile for each mile
actually traveled in official city business, except for meter
readers in the Department of Water Supply and Waterworks who
shall receive an automobile allowance of twenty dollars per
month. Before payment is made to any officer or employee pur-
suant to the terms of this section, the use of the automobiles
must be authorized and the mileage traveled must be verified
by the head of the department involved."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is
necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt
Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first pub-
lication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 30th day of April, 1974.
