AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the_ assessment of
property in Paving District No4 32, (Paving Extension No. 185)
for the purpose of grading and paving with concrete alley
±unning from Perry Avenue to and Avenue between Virginia and
Laurel Streets.

Salt Lake uity, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of .alt
Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment
of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving
District No. 32 (Paving Extension Do. 185) for the purpose of
grading and paving with concrete, to-wit:
In Lots 1 to 6 incl., and Lots 7 to 12 incl., of
Block 7, Popperton 21€ce, and Lots 1 to 16 incl., and Lots
17 to 27, incl., of block 1, ecteral Heights, all in part
of Sec. 33, T. 1 N., D. 1 E., B. L. B. B ID, abutting on
both sides of alley between Virginia and Laurel Titreets,
running from Perry Avenue to 2nd —venue, in belt Lake
City, Utah.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading
and paving with concrete (said pavement to be ten (10) feet in
width and six (6) inche"s thick), the portions of said street
opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described
to be especially..affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said

yproperty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount
• ��of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby
assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the
Iilinear foot frontage upon and to the entire depth bad?_ therefrom,
Land the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of
land is One Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-two and 82/100 (01,832.82)
Dollars or One and 77/100 ( 1.77) Dollars per front or linear foot
of abutting property for said ten (10) foot roadway, there being
1035.49 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; aand the
property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within
the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in
said district, which is the total abutters' cost and cost per fro.1t
foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered into
for the performance of said work and making said improvement with
Mullins & Palm, Contractors, dated wept. 20th, 1923, and the City
Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accord-
ance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose herein
mentioned:
TEN FOOT ROADWAY.
The East side of Lots 1 to 6 inclusive, and the 'lest
side of Lots 7 to 12 inclusive, of Blodk 7., .Popperton Place; the
East side of Lots 1 to 16 inclusive and the lest side of Lots 17
to 27 inclusive, of Block 1, Federal Heights; all in part of
Sec. 33, T. 1 N., R. 1 Z., S. L. B. & I'., as the same are shown
upon the official plats of said city to the entire depth back
from said alley , and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. That the assessment list made b,, the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I
of this ordinance in Paving Extension No. 185 of Salt Lake City,
for the purpose of grading and paving with concrete said alley,
is hereby confirmed and the assessments made and returned in said
completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and
Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are here y
ratified, approved and confirmed.
SECTION 3. Said tax shall be payable infive equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or. the interest aforesaid is not paid on the 'day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due
and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per
oent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
