Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on Thirteenth East Street between Ninth South and Twelfth South
Streets, in Paving District No. 32, for the purpose of providing
for the grading and guttering and curbing thereof, and constructing
drainage and irrigation system and constructing private driveways.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 32,
for the purpose of providing for the grading and curbing and
guttering thereof, and constructing drainage and irrigation system,
and private driveways, to-wit:
In Lots 1, and 22 to 40, inclusive, Block 1, Park View Subdi-
vision; 1, 20, and 12 to 17, inclusive, all in Block 17-A; Five
Acre Flat "A"; 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, Block 30, Five
Acre Plat "C", and all in Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides
of Thirteenth East Street between Ninth South and Tenth South
Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
and guttering with Dement, constructing drainage and irrigation
systems of concrete and vitrified pipe from six (6) inches to
thirty-six (36) inches in diameter, to carry water across streets

and intersections (said grading to be fifty (50) feet between curb=
on said Thirteenth East Street between Ninth South and Tenth South
Streets) , on the portions of said street opposite the property
hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affeoted
and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged,
determined and established that said property will be especially
benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and
said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform
rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said portio•-
of said street, fronting upon and to s. depth of twenty-five (25)
feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed
upon said parcels of land is twelve thousand five hundred twenty-
one
six and 93/100 ($12,526.93) dollars; twelve thousand fist hundred
twenty-six and 93/100 ($12,126.93) dollars, or two and 63/100 ($2.•3)
dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for fifty
foot roadway, there being 4611 feet abutting said portion of said
improvement; and four hundred ($400.00) dollars, or twenty-five
(t25.00) dollars for each private driveway, there being sixteen
private driveways, the cost of the construction of which private
driveways and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set
out, all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and street abo
mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost per
front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered
into for the performance of said work and making said improvement,
with P. J. Moran, Contractor, Incorporated, dated the 9th day of
August, 1916, and the Treasurer is hereby authorised and directed
to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance,
for the purpose herein mentioned:

'feet of Lots 1, and 35 to 40, inclusive, Block 1, Park View Subdi-

The east side of the west 742 feet of Lots 13 and 14, the eas
side of the north 187.93 feet of the west 742 feet of Lot 15, the
east side of the north 72.6 feet of the west 742 feet, and the eas

side of the south 148.5 feet of the north 221.1 feet of the west
741.71 feet of Lot 16, Block 17-A; the east side of the west 118
feet of Lots 29 and 30, Block 1, Park View Subdivision of Block
17-A, ell in Five Aore Plat "A"; the west side of the south 69.81
feet of the east 742 feet of Lot 10, the west side of the east 742
feet of Lot 9, the west side of the north 187.9 feet of the east
742 feet of Lot 8, the west side of the north 72.6 feet of the eas
742 feet of Lot 7, Block 30, Five Acre Plat "C", and all in Big
Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of sai
City to a depth of twenty-five (26) feet back from said street, an
to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
at the rate of six per Dent per annum, payable at the time each
installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after the
ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in two years afte
said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in three years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-fifth thereof in four
years after said ordinance becomes effective; and one-fifth there-
of in five years after said ordinance beoomes effective. One or
more of said installments, in the order in which they are payable,
or the whole speolal tax, may be paid at any time within thirty
days after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax becomes
effective, without interest. In the event of any installment or
the interest aforesaid not being paid on the date the same becomes
due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said
installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable,
and shall draw interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum
until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more
installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the whole
special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment becomes

due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
