An ordinance amending Section 847 of Chapter 33 of the
Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to
billiard, pool tables and bowling alleys.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 847 of Chapter 33 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City of 1913, relating to billiard,
pool tables and bowling alleys, be, and the w.me is hereby
amended so as to read as follows:
SECTION 847. BILLIARD, POOL TABLES AND BOWLING ALLEYS.
It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the business
of keeping, maintaining or operating for public use or hire,
any billiard table, pool table or bowling alley in or on
which games are played , without first obtaining a license
so to do; provided, that no license shall issue to keep,
maintain or operate for public use or hire any of the games
hereinbefore mentioned, without the boundaries of the
following districts:
1. The south side of North Temple Street, the south
side of Fifth South Street, the east side of Second East
Street, and the west side of Sixth West Street.
2. Commencing at the intersection of the center line
of Ninth East Street and the center line of the right of way

of the Denver & Rio Grande Railway Company (Park City Branch),
thence easterly along the center line of the right of way of
the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad to the center line of Twelfth
East Street extended, thence northerly along the center line
of Twelfth East Street to the center line of Hollywood Avenue
extended easterly, thence westerly along the center line of
Hollywood Avenue to the center line of Ninth East Street,
thence southerly along the center line of Ninth East Street
to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect thirty-one days
