AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Title 2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to Aeronautics, by adding thereto a
new chapter to be known as Chapter 18, adopting a master plan for the
expansion of Salt Lake City Municipal No. 1, by fixing and defining
the exterior boundaries to which said airport is to be expanded.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Title 2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake
City, Utah, 1965, relating to aeronautics, be, and the same hreby is,
amended by adding thereto a new chapter to be known as Chapter 18,
adopting a master plan for the expansion of Salt Lake City Municipal
Airport No. 1, by fixing and defining the exterior boundaries to which
said airport is to be expanded, said chapter to read as follows:
"CHAPTER 18
"SALT LAKE CITY MUNICIPAL AIRPORT NO. 1
MASTER PLAN EXTERIOR BOUNDARIES
"Sec. 2-18-1. Declaration of policy. The board of commis-
sioners of Salt Lake City finds as follows: That aircraft
transportation of all kinds is rapidly accelerating and expand-
ing in all its fields and requires and will require, increasingly
larger areas for landing facilities, terminal facilities, ware-
house facilities, hangers, and other facilities to accommodate
such transportation; that Salt Lake City Municipal Airport No. 1
is situated in the center of the great intermountain west and as
such will attract and serve an ever expanding aircraft transpor-
tation system and efforts are being made to increase the number
of airlines using said airport; that to meet the needs of the
aircraft industry using and to use said airport, it is necessary
that immediate steps be taken to enlarge it and its facilities;
that it is necessary that the city should make plans for the
enlargement of said airport to provide the necessary accommodations
to protect the air space needed therefor, and to this end to adopt
a Master Plan which would define and fix the exterior boundaries
of the area necessary for the orderly and convenient expansion of

said airport facilities to keep abreast of the needs and
requirements of the air transportation industry which said
airport should and will serve.
"Sec. 2-18-2. Master plan fixing exterior boundaries
adopted. The official map of Salt Lake City No. 21, on file
in the office of the city engineer designated as the master
plan showing the exterior boundaries of the area already
acquired or to be acquired and controlled by Salt Lake City
for the expansion of Salt Lake City Municipal Airport No. 1,
be, and the same hereby is, adopted as the Master Plan for
the expansion of said airport, the area comprising the same
being particularly described as follows:
"Beginning at the southwest corner of Section 30, T.1 N.,
R.1 W., Salt Lake Base and Meridian and running thence north
21,120 feet more or les$ to the northwest corner of Section
7, T.1 N., R.1 W., thence east along the north line of said
Section 7, 5280.00 feet moreor less to the northeast corner
of said Section 7; thence south 5280.00 feet plus or minus
along the east line of said Section 7 to the southeast corner
of same, being the corner common to Sections 7, 8, 17 and 18
all in T.1 N., R.1 W.; thence east along the north line of
Section 17, 9240.00 feet more or less to a point in the north
line of Section 16, said point being the northeast corner of
the northwest quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 16,
T.1 N., R.1 W.; thence south along a 40 acre line 7977.75
feet more or less to a point 57.75 feet south and 1319.39
feet more or less west of the east quarter corner of Section
21; thence east 20.13 Beet; thence South 0°02'38" West 2582.25
feet more or less to a point in the south line of Section 21;
thence east along the south line of Section 21, 1306.0 feet
more or less to the corner common to Sections 21, 22, 27 and
28, all in T.1 N., R.1 W.; thence South 0°02'38" West 3385.6
feet along the east line of Section 28; thence North 89°51'
50" West 342.14 feet; thence South 0°02'38" West 1635.0 feet;
thence North 89°51'50" West 993.86 feet; thence South 0°02'38"
West 2886.0 feet; thence South 89°S1'50" East 12.11 feet;
thence South 0°08'36" East 1830.91 feet along the east line
of 21st West Street to_its intersection with the north line of
North Temple Street. Thence South 89°58'38" West 1337.23 feet;
thence South 0°02'38" West 20.0 feet; thence west along the
north line of North Temple Street 460 feet more or less; thence
South 8°30' East 350 feet more or less; thence South 33° East
900 feet more or less; thence South 63° West 400 feet more or
less; thence South 8°30' East 550 feet more or less; thence
West 1900 feet more or less; thence North 8° East 1820 feet
more or less to a point in the north line of North Temple Street;
thence West along the north line of North Temple Street 1380
feet more or less; thence South 14° East 1700 feet more or less;
thence South 85° West 1900 feet more or less; thence North 4°
East 1790 feet more or less to a point in the north line of
North Temple Street; thence west along the north line of North
Temple Street 5905 feet more or less to a point in the west line
of the southeast quarter of Section 31; thence north along said
line 4488 feet more or less to the north quarter corner of
Section 31; thence west 2640 feet more or less to the point of
beginning."

SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of City Commissioners
it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah
this 15th day of August, 1967.
