AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sections 25-3-2 (1), 25-17-15, 17-3-4,
30-1-6, 14-1-4 and 17-2-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1965, relating to bonds of city officers and employees.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-3-2 (1) of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to bonds of city officers and
employees be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-3-2. Bonds. (1) Each of the following appointed
officers and employees shall execute a bond with good and
sufficient sureties to be approved by the board of commissioners
payable to the city in the penal sum as hereinafter specified,
conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of his
office or employment and the accounting for and the payment of
all moneys received by him, according to law and ordinances of
the city.
(a) City purchasing agent . . . . . . . . .$ 5,000.00
(b) Deputy city treasurer . . . . . . . . . 50,000.00
(c) License assessor and collector 10,000.00
(d) Superintendent and deputy clerk
of city court, traffic division . . . . 25,000.00."
SECTION 2. That Section 25-17-15 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the appointment and bond of the
deputy treasurer, be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 25-17-15. Appointments, deputies, clerks, assistants.
The board of commissioners may appoint and employ one deputy
treasurer and such other assistants, clerks and employees as
may be necessary for the proper conduct of said office, at such
salaries as the board may designate.
"The deputy treasurer shall, before assuming the duties of
his office take and subscribe the constitutional oath of office,
and shall furnish a bond to the city in the sum of not less than
fifty thousand dollars, conditioned upon the faithful performance

of his duties and the proper accounting of all funds and
moneys coming into his hands under his control.
"The board of commissioners may require any employee of the
treasurer's office to give bond in such amount as it may designate."
SECTION 3. That Section 17-3-4 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to oaths and bonds of officers and
employees in the health department, be, and the same hereby'is, amended
to read as follows:
"Sec. 17-3-4. Oaths. The chief sanitarian, sealer of weights
and measures, sanitarian supervisors, and deputy registrar of
vital statistics shall, before entering upon the duties of their
respective offices, take and subscribe the constitutional oath
of office."
SECTION 4. That Section 30-1-6 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to oaths and bonds of assistant chiefs
and captains in the police department, be, and the same hereby is,
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 30-1-6. Oaths of assistant chiefs and captains. Assis-
tant chiefs of police and captains shall, before they enter upon
the duties of their respective offices, take and subscribe the
constitutional oath of office."
SECTION 5. That Section 14-1-4 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the oath and bonds of the chief and
assistant chiefs of the fire department, be, and the same hereby is,
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 14-1-4. Oaths of chief and assistant chiefs. The
chief and assistant chiefs of the fire department shall, before
entering upon the duties of their respective offices, take and
subscribe the constitutional oath of office."
SECTION 6. That Section 17-2-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the oath and bond of the health com-
missioner be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 17-2-2. Oath. The health commissioner shall, before
entering upon the duties of his office, take and subscribe the
constitutional oath of office."
