AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF TITLE 51 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to Off-Street Parking and Loading Space, by amending
Sections 51-9-2, Subparagraphs (1) and (11) of Section 51-9-3, and by adding new
Subparagraph (12) to Section 51-9-3.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 9 of Title 51 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake
City, Utah, 1965, relating to off-street parking and loading space, be, and the same
hereby is , amended by amending Sec. 51-9-2 and subparagraphs (1) and (11) of Section
51-9-3, and by adding to said Section 51-9-3, a new subparagraph (12), each to
read as follows:
"Sec. 51-9-2. Parking space for one to four family dwellings. In all
residential zones there shall be provided in a private garage or on a
hard surfaced area properly located for a future garage, space for the
parking of two automobiles for each single family dwelling, three auto-
mobiles for a two family dwelling, five automobiles for a three family
dwelling and six automobiles for a four family dwelling. This parking
space must be on the same lot as the main building."
"Sec. 51-9-3. For buildings other than one to four family dwellings.

"(1) For apartments, 1 1/2 parking spaces for each unit in such apart-
ment unless said apartment is located in a "R-7", "C-3", or "C-4" district,
in which case parking shall be required on a ratio of one parking stall
to each apartment. For motels, one parking space for each unit in such
motel.

"(11) For all office buildings located in a "B-3", "C-1", "C-2" or A
"R-7" District one parking space for each two hundred square feet in the
building.
"(12) For every use not covered by one of the above at least one (l'' ;:+1�
parking space for every three hundred square feet of floor area on the
first floor and one parking space for every seven hundred and fifty
square feet above the first floor, or one parking space for every two
employees, working on the highest employment shift, whichever require-
ment is greater."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective six months after its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this loth
day of May , 1972.
