AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Chapter 2 of Title 18 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, by adding to said chapter
a new Section 18-2-37 relating to unauthorized refuse collection.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Chapter 2 of Title 18 of the Revised Ordinances
of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, be, and the same hereby is, amended
by adding to said chapter a new section relating to unauthorized
refuse collection to read as follows:
"Sec. 18-2-37. Unauthorized collection. It shall be
unlawful for any person to remove any community waste
set out on a public street or alley for city collection
on a regular garbage and refuse collection day without
written authorization from the Department of Streets and
Public Improvements. Nothing herein shall be construed
to prohibit any person from removing community waste which
has been produced on premises actually occupied by the
person removing said waste."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is
necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 1st day of May , 1974.
