AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1377 of Chanter LIX of
the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, which chapter
was'amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners
on June 26, 1941, designated as bill No. 31, relating to traffic
and travel on the streets; and amending said Chapter LIX as fur-
ther amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners
on September 17, 1941, by adding in and to said Chapter a new sec-
tion to be known as Section 1418.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 1377 of Chapter LIX of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1934, Which chapter was amended
by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners on June 26, 1941,
designated as bill No. 31, relating to traffic and travel on the
streets, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
SEC. 1377. RECKLESS DRIVING. (a) Any person who
drives any vehicle in willful or wanton disregard for the
safety of persons or property is guilty of reckless driving.
(b) Every person convicted of reckless driving
shall be punished by imprisonment for a period of not less
than five days nor more than six months or by a fine of not
less than $25.00 nor more than $299.00, or by both such fine
and imprisonment.
SECTION 2. That Chapter LIX as amended by an ordinance
passed by the Board of Commissioners on June 26, 1941, designated
as bill No. 31, relating to traffic and travel on the streets, as
amended by an ordinance passed by the Board of Commissioners on
September 17, 1941, be and the same is hereby further amended by

adding in and to said Chapter a new section to be known as Cection
11418, which shall read as follows:
SEC. 1418. VIOLATION OF PROMISE TO APPEAR - MIS-
)EMEANOR. (a) Any person willfully violating his written promise
Ito appear in court is guilty of a misdemeanor re ;ar:'.less of the

!disposition of the charge upon which he ^as originally arrested.
(b) A written promise to appear in Court may be complied
!with by an appearance by counsel.
