Dear Sir:
The Salt Lake City Council, at its meeting this day, approved two Notices
of Ordinance Adoption summarizing Bill Nos. 53 and 54 of 1980, relating
to salaries of executive level and professional and paraprofessional
employees.
• These notices will be published in the Deseret News May 22, 19 80.
The City Council also approved Bill Nos. 53 and 54 of 1980, replacing
Bill Nos. 49 and 50 (unpublished)amending the salary schedule for
executive level employees.
The ordinances - Bill Nos. 53 and 54 of 1980 -will be published in the
Deseret News May 28, 1980, and shall be retroactive in effect to April 1,
1980, and shall take effect upon publication, or upon publication of notice
of adoption, whichever occurs first.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Salary Schedule Group III as contained
in the "Wage and Salary Administration Program for Salt Lake City
Corporation Employees," adopted by Bill No. 183 of 1978, relating
to position titles, classifications and salaries for Professional
and Paraprofessional City Employees.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Salary Schedule Group III as contained in
the "Wage and Salary Administration Program for Salt Lake City
Corporation Employees" adopted by Bill No. 183 of 1978, relating
to position titles, classifications and salaries for professional
and paraprofessional City employees, be, and the same hereby is,
amended as follows:

SECTION 2. That the individual salaries of employees within
the foregoing classifications be amended to provide an 11%
increase in each salary; provided, however, that if an individual
salary adjustment results in that person being placed in between
salary steps, the Director of Personnel shall place that

individual employee's salary into the next appropriate step in
the assigned classification.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the City Council of Salt Lake
City, Utah, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of
the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become
effective immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication and shall be retroactive in effect to April 1, 19807
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 8th day of May , 1980.
