An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on
both aides of West Temple Street between First North and Second North
Streets, in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer.
II Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter '
' described in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer,
Ito-wit:
In Lots 2, 3. 4, 5 and 6, Block 6, Plat "E", and in Lot 1, Bloc•
104, flat "A", abutting on both sides of West Temple Street between
First North and Second North Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a vitr -
fied pipe sewer eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portion of sai.
street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described
to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it
is hereby adjudged, determined and established th►t said property
;will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax
Thereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said street fronting upon and to a depth of
twenty-five (25) feet bank therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is six hundred forty-nine
and 85/100 (4649.85) dollars, or 79777/100.000 (40.79777) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for sewer on said portion
of the street above mentioned in Sewer District No. 1, there being
814.58 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots,
;blocks and street above mentioned,.which is the total cost and cost
per front foot of said sewer, according to the contract entered into
Ifor the performanoe of said work and peaking said improvement, with
J. D. Hanley, dated November 9, 1908, and the Treasurer is hereby
' authorized and directed to assess in a•�oordanee with the provisions

of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned:
The north 82.25 feet of the west side of Lot 2, the west side of
Lot 3, the west side of Lot 4, the west side of Lot 5, and the south
side of Lot 6, Block 6, Plat "E"; the north 305 feet of the east aid
of, Lot 1, Block 104, Platy "q", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same ar
show upon the offici0. latO of said City to a depth of twenty-five
feat back from said street, ei& o collect said. tax.
SECTION 2. SaidAax Shall become and be delingttent.in five equ 1
installments, as follifws,, to-wit „ One-fifth thereof .one yesra ter
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of "the tax 4o0 the
payment for ouch improvement; pneKfifth thereof in two years after
Such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One
special
or more installments, or the whole^tax may be paid on the day any
installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interest to
date of payment. Each of said installments shall bear interest at
the rate of sin (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval
1of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until date of
delinquency, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until
paid.
SECTION,3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
