Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
on. Eighth East Street i,ei ween Third South and i`ifth South Streets,
and on fourth South Street between Seventh East and Ninth East
Streets, in Paving District No. 27 (Paving Extension No. 116) , for
the purpose of providing for the grading, guttering and curbing,
constructing drainage system and private driveways, and paving
thereof.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt'Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same
upon the property hereinafter describeC in Paving District No. 27
(Paving Extension Ito. 116) , for the purpose of providing for the
grading, guttering and curbing, constructing drainage system and
private driveways, and paving thereof, to-wit:
In Lots 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Block 30; 1, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block
31; 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8, Block 40; and 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, Block 41, all
in Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on both sides of Eighth
East Street betmaen Third South and fifth South Streets, and on
both sides of Fourth South Street between Seventh East and Ninth
East Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, curbing
end guttering with cement, constructing drainage system to carry

water along and across streets and intersections, of vitrified and
concretegioe, constructing private driveways, and paving with
sheet asphalt (said pavement to be seventy-two (72) feet between
curbs, and to consist of two t•.'enty-four (24) foot roadways with
trren.ty-four (24) foot park between, on Eighth East Street between
Third South and Fifth South Streets, and sixty (60) feet between
curbs on Fourth South Street bet een Seventh East and Ninth East
. Streets, and all of said roadways to have a six (6) inch concrete
base, one and one-half (12) inch binder and one and. one--half(l )
inch topping of sheet asphalt) , the Portions of said streets
opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be
especially affected. and benefited b said improvement, and it is
hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property
will be especially benefited. thereby to the full amount of the tax
hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed. at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth o'
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby :Levied
and to be assessed upon said. parcels of land is forty-six thousan.
two hundred forty-one and 40/100 046,241.40) dollars; t:renty-one
thousand two hundred four and 60/100 ( 21,204.60)dollars, or sigh
and 23/100 (4,'8.23) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting ,
property for said twenty-four foot roadways, with twenty-four foot
park between, there being 2576.50 feet abutting said portion of
said improvement; twenty-t.ao thousand nine hundred fifty-six and
80/100 ( 22,956.80) dollars, or eight and 93/100 08.93) dollars
per front or linear foot of abutting property for said sixty foot
roadway, there being 2570.76 feet abutting said portion of said
improvement; and two thousand eighty (52,080.00) dollars for
private driveways, or forty ((40.00) for each private driveway,
there being fifty-two private driveways, the cost of the construe
tion of which and the property benefited thereby is hereina_ter.•s•t
out, and all within the boundaries o - the lots, blocks and streets
above mentioned in said district, which is the total cost and cost
per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract
entered into with Parrott Brothers Company, dated the 21st day of
June, 1916, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to
assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for
the purpose herein mentioned:

north side of the west 116.5 feet of Lot 7, Block 31; the south

'6ECTION 2. Said. ta-f shall become and be delinquent in ten
equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid
a.t the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each
installment jo due, to-wit: One-tenth thereof one year after 'the
ordinance confirming fee levy of the tax for the payment for such
improvement becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in two years
after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in three
years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth thereof in
four years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth there-
of in five years after said, ordinance becomes effective; one-tenth
thereof in via years after said ordinance becomes effective; one-
tenth thereof in seven years after said ordinance becomes ef:feotire;
one-tenth tlt)reof in eiriht years after said ordinance becomes
effective; one-tenth thereof in nine years after said. ordinance
becomes efctive; and one-tenth thereof in ten years after said
ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments, in
the order ln which 'they are vnpablc, or the s.d special tax, may
be paid at any time within thirty days after the ordinance con-
firming the levy of the tax becomes effective, without interest.
In the event of any inetallment or the interest aforesaid not
beins paid on the date the same becomes due, the whole amount of
the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest
are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at
the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of the imroporty

assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the order in
which they are -,2ays,ble, or the whole secial tax unpaid, may be
paid on the day any installment becomeo due, by paying the amount
thereof and intcreot to said date.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect one day after
ito first publication.
