AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A Tau. and for the assessment of pro-
perty in Paving District No. 27, (Paving Extension No. 182) for
the purpose of grading, constructing drainage system to carry water
across and along streets and intersections, curb and construct
sidewalk, install sewer connections and-water services to edge of
pavement and pave with ISkt*Ki.n.bia concrete thereof.
BE IT Oi3DKIE D by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, does hereby levy the taxi end provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District
No. 27 (Paving Extension No. 182) for the purpose of grading, con-
structing drainage system to carry water across and along streets
and intersections, curb and construct sidewalk, install sewer con-
nections end water services to edge of pavement and pave with
concrete thereof, to-wit:
In Lots 3, 7, 8 of Blk. 26, Plat B, Salt Lake
City Survey, abutting on. both sides of Hawthorne Avenue,
7th to 8th East Streets, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, con-
structing drainage system to carry water across and along streets
and intersections, curb and construct sidewalk, install sewer con-
nections and water services to edge of pavement and pave with

wide on Hawthorne Avenue from 7th East to a point 198 feet east,
including a 3 foot walk on the south side; and 24.5 feet wide on
Hawthorne Avenue from 8th East to a point 143.5 feet west, includ-
ing a 3 foot walk on the north side and from a point 198 feet
east of 7th East thence east 132 feet, including a 3 foot walk on
the south side; and a 33 foot roadway on Hawthorne Avenue from a
point 330 feet east of 7th East, thence east 186.5 feet, including
a 3 foot walk on both sides (said sidewalk to be four (4) inche.j
thick, the topping of concrete to be three-quarters CO of an inch
thick with three and one-quarter (3 ) inch base) and all of said
pavement to be seven inches thick of concrete, the portions of said
streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter describe.
to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and
it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said pro-
perty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of
the tax hereby levied, end said parcels of land are hereby assess-
ed at an. equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot
frontage upon and to the entire depth back therefrom, and the tax
hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is
Sixty-eight Hundred Sixty-seven and 34/100,(0867.34) dollars;
One Thousand Three Hundred Thirty and 56/100 (31330.56) dollars
or Three and 36/100 03.36) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for said 16.5 foot roadway, there being 396.0
feet abutting said portion of said improvement; Two Thousand Seven
Hundred Ninety-three and 57/100 02793.57) dollars or Five and 07/140
05.07) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for
said 24.5 foot roadway, there being 551.0 feet abutting said portio
of said improvement; Two Thousand Five Hundred Twenty-five and 21/1000
02525.21) dollars or Six and 77/100 ( N6.77) dollars per front or
linear foot of abutting property for said 33.0 foot roadway, there
being 373.0 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; One
Hundred Seventy-six (,„176.00) dollars for sewer laterals, or Twenty
two 022.00) dollars for each sewer lateral, there being eight (8)

sewer laterals, Forty-two (02.00) dollars ib r water services,
or Fourteen ( 14.00) dollars for each water service, there being
three (3) water services, the coot of installing which water
services and sewer laterals and the property benefited thereby
is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the
lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said district, which
is the total abutters'.cost and cost per front foot of said
improvement, according to the contract entered into for the
performance of said work and making said imurovement with J. L.
Griffith Company, Contractor, dated the 31st day of October,
1921, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed
to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance,
for the purpose herein mentioned:

Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed .y the Board of
Jquu.lieation and .:eviow of the sroperty described in Section I
of this ordinance in _'avvis Extension Jo. 182 of Bait Lake City,
for the purpose of grading, constructing drainage system to carry
water across and along streets and intersections, curb and construct
sidewalk, install sewer connections and water services to edge of
pavement and pave with Tito si:concrete thereof, is hereby
confirmed and the assessments made and returned in said completed
lists, and the report of the Board of . qualiationsand Review to
the Board of Commissioners of Balt Lake City, are hereby ratified,
approved and confirmed.
BECTIOL III. Bait tax shall be payable in ten equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or the interest aforesaid is not ;laid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the
time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and

payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per cent
per annum until the sale of the property u.sseoed.
