AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of pro-
perty in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 388) for the
purpose of constructing a sewer.
BE IT ORDAINED BY TEE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF SALT
LAKE CITY, UTAH°
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of
the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer District
No. 2 (Sewer Extension No. 388) for the purpose of constructing a
sewer, to-wit:
In Lot 5 of Block 5; Lots 2 to 21 incl., Block
1, Lots 1 to 40 incl., Block 2, Lots 1, 2 and 22 to 40
incl., Block 3 of Broadway Add, of Block 5; Lots 1 and 20
of Block 6; Lots 1 and 11 to 20 incl. of Blocks 1 and 2 of
State Street Add.; Lots 34 to 56 incl. Block 2 of South
Salt Lake Sub. of Block 6, all in 5 Aare Plat A, Big Field
Survey; Lots 17 to 26 incl. of Blocks 1 and 2 of South
Boulevard Add. of Block 40, 10 Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey,
abutting on both sides of Westminster Ave. from State to 2nd East,
both sides of 2nd East St. from Garfield to Westminster Ave.,
both sides of Edison St. from Garfield to Westminster Ave., both
sides of Hollywood Ave., from Main to State St., both sides of
21st South St. from Main to State St., bath sides of Major St.,
from Hollywood Ave. to a point 255 feet north., east side of Main
St. from Hollywood Ave. to 21st South, West side of Main St.
from 21st South to a point 705 feet north, r
This tax is levied to defray the abutter's portion of
the expense of constructing a vitrified and concrete pipe sewer
from eight (8) inches in diameter to thirty-six (36) inches in
diameter, including manholes, flush tanks and "Y" junctions,
all complete, upon the portions of said streets opposite the
proped4y hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially
affected and benefited by said improvement and it is hereby
adjudged, determined and established that said property will be
especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax
hereby levied and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at
a uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to the
entire depth of said parcels of lend back therefrom, and the
tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of lend
is Sixteen Thousand Eight Hundred Sixty-eight and 07/100
($16,868.07); Four Thousand Thirty-eight and 99/100 ($4,038.99)

property for full rate, there being 1074.20 feet abutting said
improvement; Twelve Thousand Eight Hundred Twenty-nine and
08/100 ($12,829.08) dollars or Two and 17/100 ($2.17) dollars
per front or linear foot of abutting property for half rate,
there being 5912.02 feet abutting said improvement, which is
the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said sewers
according to the contract entered into for the performance of
said work and making said improvement with J. L. Griffith Co.
and W. H. Burnside, dated the 2d day of November, 1922, and the
treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in aeeoria
dance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purposes
herein mentioned:

12, the east side of Lots 1 and 22 to 40 incl., the south side
of the west 76.85 feet of Lot 1 and the south side of Lot 2,
Bik. 3, Broadway Add., the north side of the east 726 feet of Lot
5, all of Blk. 5; the east side of Lots 11 to 20 incl., the
south side of Lot 1, the south side of the west 80 feet of Lot •
20, Bik. 1, the south side of the east 80 feet of Lot 20, the
south side of Lot 1 and the west side of Lots 11 to 20 incl. of
Bik. 2, State Street Add., the north side of the east 660.5 feet
of the west 726.5 feet of Lot 20 and the south side of the
east 660 feet of the west 726 feet of Lot 1, all of Blk. 6,
5 Aore Plat A; the north side of Lots 17 to 26 incl. of Blk. 1
and the north side of Lots 17 to 26 incl. of Bik. 2, South
Boulevard Add. of Blk. 40, 10 Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey, as
the same are ehuwn upon the official plats of said city to the
entire depth of said parcels of land and to collect said tax.
SEOTI0N II. That the assessment list made by the
City Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Bo, .
1 of Equalization and Review of the property described in Section
I of this ordinance in Sewer District No. 2 (Sewer Extension No.
388) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a sewer
upon said portions of said streets, is hereby confirmed, and
the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and t e
report of the Board of Equalisation and Review to the Board of

Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby ratified, approved
and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five
equal yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with
interest on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent
per annum, payable at the time each installment is due. In the
event any installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on
the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special
tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due,
shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the
rate of twelve per cent per annum until the sale of the property
assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
