An ordinance amending section 12 of an ordinance designated as Bill No. 82, paused by the Cite Council cf Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 6, 1905, and approved September 7, 1905, and granting to George A. Snow and William Darst and to their heirs, executors, administrators and as- signs the right to manufacture gas and to construct, operate and maintain gas mains, pipes and necessary attachments for supplying manufactured gas in the City of Salt Lake, County of Salt Lake, State of Utah, and defin- ing the rights, privileges and powers granted unto said grantees. Section 1. Be it ordained. by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah, that Section 12 of an ordinance granting to George A. Snow and William. Darst and to their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns the right to manufacture gas and to construct, operate and maintain gas mains, pipes and necessary attachments for supplying manufactured gas in the City of Salt Lake, County of Salt Lake and State of Utah, and defin- ing the rights, privileges and powers granted unto said grantees, passed by the City Conc ,: of Salt Lake City, Utah, September 6, 1905, and ap- py ved by P`;,i'an J '�N_ewlett, Mayor Pro Tern, September 7, 1905, and desig- naed as R tl. -1o. '82, he and tha same is hereby amended so as to read as follows: '! - "Sectirgn 1,2. This franchise Shall not be transferrable or assign- aa able, e cept tee a corporation organized under the laws of the State of Ut:ih., piovlited however, that the foregoing provision of this section sa1l naht a: p1- s to or affect:•a transfer or assignment of this franchise by way of pledge, mortgage oi trust deed; provided, however, that should a mortgages, trustee or purc4aser under foreclosure proceedings acquire the title and right to said franchise, then and in that event, said mort- gagee, trustee or purchaser shall within one year after the acquisition of such title, convey said franchise to a corporation organized and doing business under the laws of the State of Utah, the intention being that said franchise and ga., plant contemplated to be constructed thereunder shall, except during the period of one year as herein provided, be owned and operated by a corporation of the State of Utah. n Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon its passage and approval.
