Result AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of
• property on the south side of 13th South Street and the north side
of Sherman Avenue from 13th to 14th East Streets, and on the west
side of 14th Last Street from 13th South Street to 20.5 feet south,
in Sidewalk District No. 44, (Sidewalk Extension No. 226) for the
purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does, hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District
So. 44 (Sidewalkxtensiion So. 226), for the purpose of constructing
a concrete sidewalk, to-wit:
In Lots 1 to 20 incl., and Lots 29 to 48 incl.
of College heights Sub. of Blk. 11, 5-Acre Plat U, Big
Field Survey, abutting on the south side of 13th South
Street, on the north side of Sherman Avenue between 13th
and 14th East Streett, and on the west side of 14th Bast
Street, 20.5 feet south of 13th South Street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
sidewalk five (5) feet wide and four (4) inches thick, with three
and one-quarter (34) inch base and three-quarter (4) inch topping,
upon the portion of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore
and hereinafter described to be especially benefited and affected

by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and es-
tablished that said property will be especially benefited thereby
to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of
land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accord-
ance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said
streets fronting upon and to the entire depth back therefrom, and
the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of
land is 'Fwc Thousand ThreeHundred Forty-one and 69/100 ( 2,341.69)
Dollars, or One and 665/1000 ($1.665.) Dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting property, there being 1406.42 feet of abutting
property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets
above mentioned in said district, which is the total abutters' .
cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalk, according to the
contract entered into for the performance of said work and making
said improvement with Christensen, Jacob B Gardner, Inc., dated
the 9th day of July, 1924, and the City Treasurer is hereby au-
thorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions
of this ordinance, for the purposes herein mentioned:

The south side of Lots 1 to 20 incl., the north side of
Lots 29 to 48 incl. and the east side of the north 20.5 feet of
Lot 48, of College HeightaSubd.i 12ianof Blk. 11, 5-acre Blast "C",
Big Field Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats o
said city to the entire depth of said parcels of land and to col-
lect said tax.
SECTION 2. That the assessment list made by the Oity
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of
this ordinance in Sidewalk District No. 44 (Sidewalk Extension
No. 2264 of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a
sidewalk upon said portions of said streets, is hereby confirmed,
and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists,

and the report of the Board of Lqualization and keview to the Boar
of Commissioners of Salt Lake ufty, are hereby ratified, approved
and confirmed.
SECTION 3. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interest

Ion the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
!the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due
and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per
`cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effeot one day
after its first publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
