Dear Sir:
The Salt Lake City Council, at its meeting this day, approved two Notices
of Ordinance Adoption summarizing Bill Nos. 53 and 54 of 1980, relating
to salaries of executive level and professional and paraprofessional
employees.
These notices will be published in the Deseret News May 22, 79 80.
The City Council also approved Bill Nos. 53 and 54 of 1980, replacing
Bill Nos. 49 and 50 (unpublished)amending the salary schedule for
executive level employees.
The ordinances- Bill Nos: 53 and 54 of 1980-will be published in the
Deseret News May 28, 1980, and shall be retroactive in effect to April 1,
1980, and shall take effect upon publication, or upon publication of notice
of adoption, whichever occurs first.

ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 25-4-3 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, by r_edesignatinq salary
schedule "Group V" as contained therein, pertaining to salary
ranges for Executive Level Employees of the City, as Salary
Schedule "Group VI" eliminating certain existing classification
levels; and establishing positions within and salary ranges for
each remaining level.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 25-4-3 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, be amended by redesignating salary
schedule "Group V" as contained therein as Salary Schedule "Group
VI"; eliminating certain existing classification levels; and
establishing positions within and salary ranges for each
remaining executive level, as follows:

SECTION 2. That the provision of the "Wage and Salary
Administration Program for Salt Lake City Corporation Employees",
adopted in Section 25-4-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake
City, Utah, 1965, pertaining to the above pay classifications and
positions and establishing salaries therefore, be amended to
conform with the above and to provide a 10% cost-of-living salary
increase for all officers and employees in executive levels 001
through 004 and a 12% increase for all persons in levels 005 and
006, (except in cases of temporary appointment). An additional
increase may he approved by the Mayor for employees in levels

004, 005 and 006 if necessary, to place such individuals at the
mimimum of the salary range for each level.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the City Council of Salt Lake
City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the
inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become
effective immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall he retroactive in effect to
April 1, 1980, and shall take effect upon its first publication..
Passed by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 8th day of May , 1980.
