♦n ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of
the property hereinafter described on both sides of Seventh South
Street between Second West and Eighth West Streets, in Sidewalk Dig_.
tricts Nos. 20 and 21, for the construction of cement sidewalks.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
idescribed in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 20 and 21, for the construction
of Dement sidewalks, to-wit:
In Lots Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 10, Plat "A"; in Lots Nos. 5
and 6, Block 12; in Lots Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 11; in Lot 5, Block
10, and in Lots 20 to 28, inclusive, of Subdivision of the east half
of Block 10, Plat "C", abutting on the south side of Seventh South
Street between Fourth West and Eighth West Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement
1 sidewalks six (6) feet wide and four (4) inohes think upon the portion
of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter des-
„ cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said prop-
erty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the
tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five (26)
feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon
said paroels of land is two thousand seven hundred fifty-four. and
43/100 ($2,754.43) dollars, or one and 11/100 (41.11) dollars per
front or linear foot of abutting property for sidewalk upon the street
above mentioned in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 20 and 21, there being
2481.47 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots,
blocks and street above mentioned in said districts, which is the to-
tal cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalk according to the
contract entered into for the performance of said work and makiig1saId

:improvement, with Frank Doran, dated the 3rd day of Maroh, 1908, and
the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance
?with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned;
The North aide of Lot 8, the north side of the east 148.5 feet
!of Lot 7, the north side of Lots 5 and 6, Block 10, Plat "A"; the
north side of the east 102.88 feet of Lot 6, the north side of the
west 151.09 feet of Lot 6, and the north side of Lot 5, Block 12; the
!north side of Lots 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 11; the north side of Lot 5,
1Blook 10;and the north side of Lots 20 to 28, inclusive, of the east
!half of Block 10, Plat "C", Salt Lake City Survey, as the same are
shown upon the official plats of said City to a depth of twenty-five
1(25) feet bank from said street, and to oolleot said tax:
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal
!installments, as follows,' to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
,the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
;payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
;such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
'thereof in five years after suoh approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or
!more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day
:any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest
to date of payment. Each of said installments shall bear, interest at
the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval
iof the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until the date of
!delinquency, and eight per cent per annum from delinquency until paid.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
