An Ordinance amending Section 11 of an ordinance passed,
by the Board of Commissioners June 24, 1914, relating to officers
in the Bureau of Itechan.icai Inspection, as amended by en ordinance
passed by the Board of Commissioners August 27, 1919.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 11 of an ordinance passed by the
Board of Commissioners June 24, 1914, as amended by an ordinance
passed by the Board of Commissioners August 27, 1919, be and the
same is hereby amended so as to read as follows:
Section 11. The Board of Commissioners may appoint
officers
and employ the followinfiin the Bureau of Mechanical Inspection
at salaries not to exceed the amounts stated:
One practical, competent builder or architect who
shall be Chief of the Division of Building Inspection and who
shall attend to the inspection of all buildings and structures
erected or proposed to be erected within the city and to carry
out, enforce and perform all duties, provisions and mandates
designated, made and set forth in the ordinances of Salt Lake
City concerning building and building inspection and to examine
and approve all plans and specifications for buildings before
a permit shall be issued and to sign and issue all permits,
certificates and notices required to be issued., at a salary not
to exceed $2400.00 per annum, payable monthly.

I One practical, competent plumber or sanitary
engineer, who shall be Chief of the Division of Plumbing
Inspection, whose Butt it shall be to enforce all ordinance
of Salt Lake City relating to installation or maintenance of
3 plumbing and drains; to issue permits for and inspect all
plumbing and drains and to perform such other duties as
1 may prescribed by ordinance, at a salary not to exceed 1
1 $2400.00 per annum, payable monthly.

of Salt Lake City with regard to installation and repairs

I ances and apparatus in or running to any building in Salt
Lake City and to inspect and supervise the same and to per-1
form such other duties as shall be provided by ordinance

at a salary not to exceed $2400.00 per annum, payable montYi-

11 Chief of the Division of Smoke Inspection, whose duty it
shall be to enforce the ordinances of Salt Lake City with
II respect to the smoke nuisances and to make inspection of
boilers, furnaces and heating plants and the installation
1 thereof and to perform all other duties required by ordi-

nance, at a salary not to exceed $1800.00 per annum, pay-
able monthly.
iA clerk of the Bureau of Mechanical Inspection,
whose duty it shall be to have charge of the books and to

:i collect the fees provided by ordinance to be collected and
,1 to make the,.report and remittance thereof to the City

Treasurer as required by ordinance and to perform such
other duties as may be required by the different Chiefs of
Divisions in said Bureau, at a salary not to exceed 1300.00

Ij per annum, payable monthly. Said Clerk of the Bureau of i
Mechanical Inspection shall give bond in the sum of
conditioned upon the faithful performance of duties and
the proper accounting of all funds and moneys as required
by ordinance. '
Section 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commission-
ere it is necessary to the health, peace and safety of the City '
that this ordinance become effective immediately.
{ Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its
publ i cat ion.
