Fehr - - - I Finch - Moran - - - _..-- Mr.chairman AN ORDINANCE Result - - - AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of property in Lighting District No. 13-A, for the purpose of pro- viding for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of incan- descent lamps and the furnishing of electrical energy therefor. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in lighting dis- trict No. 13-A, for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance and patrolling of incandescent lamps and the furnish- ing of electrical energy therefor, to-wit: In Lots 20 to 24 incl. and Lot 25 of Blk. 1;. Lots 1 to 19 incl. of Blk. 2; Lots 1 and 4 to 27 incl. of Blk. 3; Lots 1 to 29 incl. of Blk. 4; Lots 1 to 24 incl. of Blk. 5; Normandie Heights Sub. of Blk. 30; and Lots 4 and 19 of Blk. 30; 5-Acre Plat C, Big Field Survey, abutting on Harvard Avenue from 13th to 15th East Streets, Princeton Avenue from Laird Avenue to 15th East Street, 14th East Street from Harvard Avenue to Princeton Avenue, Normandie Circle, and Laird Avenue from 13th East Street to 346.33 feet east, in Salt Lake City. This tax is levied to defray the expense of providing for the opelation, maintenance and patrolling of incandescent lamps Heights Sub. of Blk. 30; beginning at the NE car. of inter- • section of 13th East St. with Harvard Ave., thence N. 89° 59' i� -2- 1 (said lamps to be forty-five (45) in number, each standard to carrYI one 250 candle power incandescent lamp), said lamps to be illuminati- ed by electric current, and the furnishing of electrical energy for the same on the all-night schedule for a period of ten years from i _ November 22, 1929, to November 22, 1939, and the portions of said i streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter describeid to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and iii is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax; I hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an I equal and uniform rate in accordance with the number of square fee' and to a maximum depth of sixty (60) feet hack therefrom, and the I tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is T'hltitneen Thousand C:OMe, Hundrea _c;fbur and 00/100 ($13,104.00) 1 Dollars or 0.0311338/10000000 ($0.0311338) Dollars per square foot' square of abutting property, there being 420,893/feet abutting said por- 1 tion of said improvement, and the cost of which operation, mainte- nance, patrolling and furnishing of electrical energy and the pro-+ perty benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within thel boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said l district, which is the total abutters' cost and cost per square foot of said improvement for a period of ten years according to the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement with Utah Power & Light Company, dated the 22nd day of November, 1929, said levy to date and be effective from November 22nd , 1929, which is the date service began, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in ac- cordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose ,,- herein mentioned: Lots 20 to 24 incl. and the west 17.2 ft of Lot 25 of Blk. 1, Lots 1 to 19 incl. of Blk. 2, Lots 1 and 4 to 27 incl. of Blk. 3, Lots 1 to 29 incl. of Blk. 4, Normandie Heights Sub. of Blk. 30; beginning at the NE cor. of inter- section of 13th East St. with Harvard Ave., thence N. 89Y.59t! 1 II -3- i E. 25 ft., thence along a curve to the left Rad. 567 ft. a distance of 100.52 ft. and to a depth of 60 ft., being a part of Lot 4 of Blk. 30; Lots 1 to 24 incl. of Blk. 5, Normandie Heights Sub. of Blk. 30; beginning at the NW cor. of inter- section of 15th East with Princeton .Ave., thence S. 89 deg. 59 min. That;the assement list mad by the City Treasurer, as corrected, approved a0d .bompletea bx,the Board of Equalization and Review of the prop rty describad1 in Section I of i this ordinance in LightingDistriot No. 13-A of "halt Lake City, for the purpose of providing for the operation, maintenance and pa trolling of incandescent lamps, is hereby confirmed, and the asses - ments made and returned in said completed lists and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in ten equal yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance. In the event any installment is not paid on the day the same becomes due, the same shall draw interest thereafter at the rate of twelve per cent per yannum until paid. SECTION IV.
