AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and for ti,e assessment of property
on the west side of Tenth East Street between South Temple and Third
South Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 22, for the construction of
a cement sidewalk.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Lots 1 and 8, Block 57; Lots 1, 6, 7 and El, Block 56;
Lots 1 and 8, Block 43, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, abutting on
the west side of Tenth East Street between South Temple and Third
South Streets, in Sidewalk District No. 22, said property having a
frontage of 1,980 feet along said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
cement sidewalk six (6) feet wide and four (4) inches thick upon
said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter des-
cribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same
will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax
hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a, depth of
twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is two thousand and seventy-
nine ($2,079.00) dollars, or one and 5/100 ($1.05) dollars per :Front
or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and estimated cost
per linear foot of said sidewalk, and the Treasurer is hereby author-
ized and dire*ted to assess in accordance with the provisions of
this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, all of Lots 1 and
8, Block 57; all of Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 56; and all of Lute 1
and 8, Block 43, Plat "B", Salt Lake City Survey, as the are
shown upon the official plats of s:.id City to a depth of twenty-five

(25) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six (6)
equal installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be-
come delinquent one month after the approval of this ordinance; one-
sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth thereof in
two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three years af-
ter such approval; one--sixth thereof in four years after such appro-
val; and one-sixth thereof in five years after suchm approval. Each .
and every installment of said tax except t-ie first, shall draw in-
terest at t he rate of six per cent per annum from date of levy until
delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax shall bear
interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and after its
date of delinquency.
SECTION 3. This ordinanoe shall take effect upon approval.
