Green --- MOW Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANC SE.': ITC SEC'TIOPS 1057, 1858, 1062, 1060, 1865, 1874, 1882, 1885, 1007, 1888, 1889, 1892, 1901 and 1910 of Chapter LX of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, relating to traffic aid travel on the streets. pe it ordained by the hoard of Commissioners of ,aft Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. -hat Sections 1857, 1858, 1862, 1866, 1065, 1874, 1882, 1885, 1887, 1888, 1089, 1892, 1901 1910 of Chapter LX of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1920, relating to traffic and travel on the street;; be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 1857. yARIdING SIGNALS. :very motor vehicle, tractor, bicycle and motorcycle shall be equipped with a suitable signalling; device for producing an abrupt sound as a signal or warning of danger. A driver of a motor ve- hi.ele or tractor shall sound his horn or other signalling device when approaching points on any street where the view ahead is not clear or where the view of ,n in.te-ri:ect- s hza.l l ing street is obstructed; provided, that in no case such horn or signalling device be usel for the purpose of making an unnecessary noise. ISJ Jh1SS Oh hO10i_ very motor t vehicle shall at all times while being used or operated upon the streets of Salt ],eke City display the number plates as- signed to it by the Secretary of 0tnte of the ii trite of Utah, one on the. front and the other on the roar of said vehicle, both to be securely fastened to the vehicle so as to be plain ly legible and so as to prevent said ;plates from wringing and 1,1 ra to be placed at least 16 inches above the ground. :ill letters, numerals, printing, writuz_ and other identification marks upon said plates shall be kept clear and distinct and. free from defacement, mutilation, grease and other obscuring matter so that they shall be visible at all times 100 feet toward the front or rear. No number plates other than those furnished by the Secretary of State shall be used. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or use any licensed motor vehicle upon any street of Salt lake City after a transfer of ownership thereof with the license plates issued to the vendor attached thereto; or to drive or use any motor vehicle upon any street of the city with only one li- cense number plate thereon. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive, use or operate any motor vehicle on the streets of salthake City without the number plates specifically assigned to such vehi- cle by the Secretary of State. SECTION 1874. VitIICLE2 Pi:S„I1dG 1C 1 Oi;i: Every person riding or driving any vehicle upon the streets of this city shall upon meeting another vehicle, pass the same to the right, and over-taking another vehicle shall pass to the left thereof, and not pull ever to the right until entirely clear of the vehicle passed; but no person riding or driving any vehicle shall, in over-toeinfi,; a street car or interurban railway car, pass to the left thereof. No person driving a vehicle shall pass another vehi- cle from the rear at the top of a hill or on a curve where the view ahead is in any way obscaized. SECTION 1802. It shall be unlawful for pedestrians to cross the street at any point other than at regular street crossings at intersections and half way between street intersections. SECTION 1910. CCIDE iT. In case of an accident to any person or property on any of the streets of the city where the operation of any vehicle is involved the person operating or in charge of such vehicle, shall stop immediately and upon request of carp person ,present shall give his name and address, and if not the owner of such vehicle the name and address of such owner, and shall render such assistance in as may be reasonable and necessary; and/all cases of accident resulting in injury to any person the operator shall immedi- ately report the details of the satie to the ;police authorities, of the city. SECTION 2.
