AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance creating the office of Sanitary Inspector, defin-
ing his duties and fixing his salary, and repealing inconsistent
ordinances.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
Section 1.,:" The office of Sanitary Inspector of Salt Lake City
is hereby 'ereatimi, and his salary ie fixed at see thebeend (21000.00)
dollars per annum, payable monthly, as are the ealar .e of other
City officials.
Sestiton 2. Sash officer shall be apnoisted by the Mayor, sub-
,)cot to the ceutirasition of the City"'Council; and before assuming
the dutiesef his affioe, be shall-give a bond to the City with two
or sere auPetied id: the sus of one the-Meant ($1 00.00) toilers.
Section 3. The Sanitary Inspector shall obey all orders of
the Health Commissioner, and all orders and resolutions of the
Board of Health. He shall, under the tireetion of the Health
Commissioner, employ all teams, drivers and wagons neeeseary to be
employe& in cleaning the streets, alleys and palate places in the
City, and in removing all garbage, dead animals, refuse animal and
vegetable matter, offal and all other matter detrimental or danger-
ous to the public health; and under the direction of the Health
Commissioner, the Sanitary Inspeetor shall have control of and shall
erder ant direst the work to be done by said teams, drivers and
wagons. It shall be the duty of the Sanitary Inspector to inspeet
Ian premises With* the ~perste lteits of Salt Lake City which are
in an unsanitary, unhealthy or filthy condition, or which are apt
to beeome unsanitary, unhealthy or filthy; he shall under the
kirection of the Health Commissioner, enforce all laws ordanoes

land sanitary rules,Aand shall report any violations thereof to the
Health Commissioner.
Section 4. All ordinances and parts of ordinances inoonsist-
ent herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinanoe shall take eye u proval.
