53 of 1908 - Ordinance 53 of 1908 – Sewer Extension No. 180, Tenth & Final Estimate. AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of
;the property hereinafter described within the district bounded on the
!north by Fifth South Street, on the west by the Gravity Sewer, on the
!south by Ninth South Street, and on the east by Ninth East Street, in
Sewer Districts Nos. 1 and 2, for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Sewer Districts Noe. 1 and 2, for the construction of
sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 4 and 8, Block 3; in Lots 6 and 6, Block 18; and in Lots
:4 and 8, Block 25, all in Plat "B", abutting on Seventh East Street
between Eighth South and Ninth South Streets; on Sixth South Street
between Sixth East and Seventh East Streets; and on Sixth East Street.
between Fifth South and Sixth South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing vitri-
fied pipe sewers eight (8) inches in diameter upon the portions of
' said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter des-
' oribed to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
', and it is hereby adjudged, determined, and established that said prop-
erty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the
tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an.
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage
*pon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to a depth. of
1twenty-five (26) feet bask therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and
to be assessed upon said parcels of land is four thousand three hund-
' red ninety-nine and 98/100 (44,399.98) dollars, or two and
'2797816/10,000,000 (42.2797816) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property on the streets above mentioned for sewer on side of
street in Sewer District No. 1, there being 1930 feet of abutting
property within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above
mentioned in said

*strict, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said
'sewer according to the oontraot entered into for the performance of
said work and making said improvement, with James Kennedy, dated the
!E27th day of July, 1907, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and
jjdireoted to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance
for the purpose herein mentioned:

Fronting on Seventh East Street.
The north 305 feet of the west side of Lot 4, and the south 805
feet of the west side of Lot 5, Block 3; Plat "B".
fronting on Sixth South Street.
The north side of Lots 5 and 6, Block 18, Plat "B".
Fronting on Sixth Bast Street.
The west side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 25, Plat "B", Belt Lake City
?Survey, as the same are shown upon the official plats of said City to :
depth of twenty-five (25) feet book from said streets, and to col-

SBCT108 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equal
installments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after
:the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
4syment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
done-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
!thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in-
stallmenta or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or
more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day and-
';installment becomes due by paying the amount thereof and interest to
date of payment. Bach of said installments shall bear interest at the
ijrate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval of
the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until the date of:delin-.

quenoy, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until paid.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
