AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (b) of Section 180 of the
Traffic Code of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1955,
relating to restricted vehicles.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That Subsection (b) of Section 180 of the Traffic
Code of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, 1955, relating to
restricted vehicles, be, and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"(b) All restricted vehicles other than those vehicles
defined in subsection (c) of this section, and all trucks or
similar vehicles registered for 24,000 pounds gross weight
or more shall be driven only upon those streets or parts of
streets described in schedule 13-a attached hereto and made
a Fart of this code, deviating only when necessary to traverse
another street or streets for the purpose of loading, unloading
or servicing and then only by such deviation from the nearest
truck route as is reasonable and practical; provided, that no
lf� such vehicle shall be loaded, unloaded or serviced upon any
street or part of a street if there is usable off-street loading,
unloading or servicing space available."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it
is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of
Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 6th day of August, 1957.
