53 of 1980 - Amending section 25-4-3, replacing bill 50 of 1980, establishing salary ranges for Executive Level e ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Salt Lake City Council Bill No. 50 of 1980, pertaining to salary ranges for Executive Level Employees of the City. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Bill No. 50 of 1980, be, and the same hereby is amended to read as follows: "SECTION 1. That Section 25-4-3 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, be amended by redesignating Salary Schedule "Group V" as contained therein as Salary Schedule "Group VI"; eliminating certain existing classification levels; and establishing positions within and salary ranges for each remaining executive level, as follows: GROUP VI EXECUPIVES Level Position Per Annum Range 001 $36,487.00 - $48,500.00 City Attorney Director of Airport Director of Budget and Management Planning Director of Developmental Services Director of Finance and Administrative Services Director of Personnel Management Director of Public Utilities Director of Public Works 002 $32,279.00 - $42,833.00 City Engineer City Prosecutor City Treasurer Deputy City Attorney Deputy Director - Public Utilities Director - Building and Housing Services Director - Data Processing Director - General Services Director - Intergovernmental Relations Director - Redevelopment Director - Planning and Zoning Superintendent of Parks Superintendent of Streets and Sanitation Transportation Engineer Water. SECTION 2. That the provision of. the 'Wage and Salary Administration Program for Salt Lake City Corporation Employees', adopted in Section 25-4-2 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, pertaining to the above pay classifications and positions and establishing -3- salaries therefore, be amended to conform with the above and to provide an approximate 10% cost-of-living salary increase for all officers and employees in executive levels 001 through 004 and an approximate 12% increase for all persons in levels 005 and 006, (except in cases of temporary appointment and for positions with salaries specifically set forth above). Individual variations in the foregoing increase may be approved by the Mayor 1) for employees in levels 004, 005 and 006 if necessary, to place such individuals at the minimum of the salary range for each level; 2) to ensure equal pay for employees performing similar job functions under similar circumstances; or 3) to • permit compensation commensurate with lob duties and responsibilities. However, in no event shall the total annual cost of said increases for employees in executive levels 1 through 6, including police and fire executives exceed $1,096,000.00, during fiscal year 1980-81. No such increases shall apply to employees who have terminated employment prior to May20, 1980. SECTION 3. In the opinion of the City Council of Salt Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 4. - This ordinance shall be retroactive in effect to April 1, 1980, and shall take effect upon its first publication, or upon publication of notice of adoption, whichever occurs first." SECTION 2. All provisions of Bill No. 50 of 1980, not specifically amended herein, shall remain in full force and effect as adopted.
