AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING THE LIMITS OF SALT LAKE CITY.

WHEREAS, there was filed with the City Recorder of Salt
Lake City a petition,signed by a majority of the owners of real
property situated in the tract hereinafter described, requesting
that said tract of land be taken within the limits of Salt Lake
City, and also caused an accurate map or plat to be made and
certified to by a competent surveyor and approved by the City
Engineer to be filed with the City Recorder; and

v1 WHEREAS, the said tract of land is contiguous to Salt
z ; Lake City,and there is no proper reason why it should not be
1_,-1 annexed to and made a part of Salt Lake City; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City
W after examining said petition of said owners of said tract of land
and considering the circumstances thereof voted by unanimous vote
'4 In favor of annexing said tract of land to Salt Lake City and di-
rected that an ordinance should be passed annexing said territory
and the extension of the city limits of Salt Lake City accordingly.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Board of Commission-
ers of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the city limits of Salt Lake City be and
the same are hereby extended and enlarged so as to include the
following described tract of land in Salt Lake County, to-wit:
Beginning at the Northeast corner of the S.E.4 of the
S.W.1/4 of Section 11, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S. L. B. & M.,
running thence West 2640.0 ft. to the west line pf Section
11, thence North 2389.0 feet to the southerly line of Sunny-
side Avenue; thence East 195.0 feet to the Easterly line of
the U. S. Military Reservation; thence North along the Easter-
ly line of the U. S. Military Reservation 1583.27 feet to
the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Section 11, T. 1 S., R. 1 E.,
S. L. B. & M., thence East 3765 feet; thence South 2640 feet
and thence West 1320 feet to the point of beginning, contain-
ing 312.91 acres, more or less;

from the Northeast corner of Section 15, T. 1 S., R. 1 E.,
S.L.B. Y. M., running thence West 1187.16 feet; thence N. 00

ginning, containing 107.51 acres, more or less;
Said above described tract being portions of Block 15 -
Five Acre Plat 'C', Big Field Survey and Sections 10, 11, 14
and 15, T. 1 S., R. 1 E., S. L. B. & M.
and that the same has been correctly staked out upon the ground as
shown upon the map or plat.
AND BE IT FURT.EER ORDAINED that the whole of the above
described property be and is hereby zoned Residential 'A' District,
excepting the following described property, which shall be classi-
fied as Residential 'B' District, to-wit:
Commencing at the center of Section 11, T. 1 S., R.l E.,
and running East 1320 ft., North 1320 ft., South 1320 ft. to
the place of beginning;
Also, commencing at the West 1/4 corner of Section 11,
T. 1 S., R. 1 R., and running thence North 333 ft.,thence
East L37.7 ft., thence South 333 ft., thence West 437.7 ft.
to the place of beginning;
and excepting the following described property, which shall be
classified as Residential 'B-3' District, to-wit:
Commencing at a point 380 ft. East of the West 1/4 cor-
ner of Section 11, T.1 S.,R. 1 2., and running thence East
660 ft., thence South 660 ft., thence West 660 ft., thence
North 660 ft. to the place of beginning;
Also, commencing at a point 110 ft. South-of the Northea frf
corner of Lot 12, Block 15, Five Acre Plat "C", Big Field-
Sur-vey, and running thence South 661.8 ft. to the East line of
Foothill Drive thence North 33° 45' 57" West 929.55 ft.,
thence East 268 ft., thence South 110 ft., thence East 248 ft.
to the place of beginning;
Also, commencing at a point 33 ft. East of the Northwest
corner of Lot 12, Block 15, Five Acre Plat "C", Big Field Sur-
vey, and running thence East 90.42 ft., thence South 33° 45'
57" East along the West line of Foothill Boulevard 1037.33 ft.,
thence West 666.26 ft., thence North 861.3 ft. to the place
of beginning.
AND BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED and declared that when this
ordinance takes effect the said tract of land above described shall
thenceforth be wS thin the corporate limits of said Salt Lake City
and zoned as Residential At District as in the ordinance provided

and all ordinances, jurisdictions, rules and obligations of or
pertaining to said Salt Lake City are extended over and made applit
cable and pertinent to the said tract of land and the streets,
blocks, alleys and ways of said tract shall be controlled and
governed by the ordinances, rules and regulations of said city in
that behalf, and the monuments of the City Engineer shall thence-
forth be taken therein as the standards of locations and distances.
SECTION 2. Upon the passage of this ordinance the City
Recorder of Salt Lake City shall file and she is hereby directed
to file with the County Recorder of Salt Lake County a copy of the
map or plat above mentioned duly certified and acknowledged, as
provided in such cases, together with a certified copy of this
ordinance.
SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of. Commissioners,
it is necessary to the peace, health and"safetyy of the inhabitants
of Salt Lake City that this ordinance shall become' effective imme-
diately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall tie/ef re'c# at once upon
