AN ORDINANCE
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 8-2-4, subsection (c) of Section
25-4-6 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as
amended, relating to uniform allowances.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 8-2-4 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to the uniform allowance of
reserve officers of the Police Reserve Corps, be, and the same hereby
is, amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 8-2-4. Uniform allowance. Reserve Corps members
shall be entitled to receive the sum of six dollars and
fifty cents per month uniform allowance."
SECTION 2. That subsection (c) of Section 25-4-6 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, as amended, relating to
uniform allowances be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as
follows:
"Sec. 25-4-6. * * *
"(c) Uniform allowance. In addition to the salaries herein
provided for the members of the fire department and police de-
partment, each officer and employee of the fire department, who
is required to wear a uniform, shall receive the sum of $15.00
per month as a uniform allowance, and each officer and employee
of the police department, and the Chief Security Guard and each
Security Guard assigned to the Salt Lake City International
Airport, who is required to wear a uniform, shall receive the
sum of $16.50 per month as a uniform allowance; provided, how-
ever, that the personnel of the police department required to
wear a uniform and who are assigned to duty in the K-9 Corps,
the motorcycle patrol and plainclothesmen, and personnel of the
fire department required to wear a uniform and who are assigned
to duty as Fire Prevention Bureau inspectors, shall receive an
additional uniform allowance of $16.00 per month, in view of the
extra hazards to uniform involved in such assignment; and pro-
vided, further, that personnel of the police department and fire
department holding the rank of lieutenant or captain shall not
receive the $16.00 per month additional uniform allowance above
provided for."

SECTION 3. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of
Salt Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health, safety and welfare
of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become
effective immediately.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah,
this 9ih day of June, 1970.
