Greener Harmsen ✓ Harrison Phillips Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Sections 18-4-33, 18-6-52 and 18-31-18 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to elimination of tuberculosis skin tests for food handlers. Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION 1. That Sections 18-4-33, 18-6-52 and 18-31-18 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to elimination of tuberculosis skin tests for food handlers, be, and the same hereby are, amended to read as follows: "Sec. 18-4-33. Permits required for food handlers. Every person, before entering or engaging in the manu- facturing, preparation or handling of food or drink, or employed in or around food in a restaurant, hotel, beer parlor, grocery store, milk and other food establish- ments must obtain a food handler's permit. Said permit may be granted only to those persons who, after making proper application, have attended a food service training program and successfully passed a written examination based upon the Food Service Sanitation Manual, published by the Utah State Department of Public Health, and paid a fee of $1.00. The permit shall expire two years from date of issuance." "Sec. 18-6-52. Issuance of food service employee permit. The Salt Lake City-County Health Department shall issue, food service employee's permits only to those persons who, after making proper application, have attended a food service training program and successfully passed a written examination based on Food Service Sanitation Manual, published by the Utah State Department of Public Health, and paid a fee of $1.00. The permit shall expire two years from date of issuance." "Sec. 18-31-18. Issuance of food service employee permit. The Salt Lake City-County Health Department shall issue food service employee's permits only to those persons who, after making proper application, have attended a food service training program and successfully passed a written examina- gion based on Utah State Food Service Sanitation Manual, pub- lished by the Department of Public Health, and paid a fee of $1.00. The permit shall expire two years from date of issuance." SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. 54 -2- SECTION 3.
