Greener Harmsen Hen Phillips Result AN ORDINANCE // AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 20-16-7 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to secondhand and junk dealers. Be it ordained by .theBoard of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,, Utah: SECTION 1. That SeStion` 20-16'-7 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to secondhand and junk dealers, be, and the same hereby-is, amended to read as follows: Sec. 20-16-7. .Property tb be kept thirty days before disposition. It shall be unlawful for any person licensed by this chapter to sell or otherwise dispose of any such property for a period of thirty days from the date of re- ceiving the same, unless expressly permitted to dispose of such property by the police department prior to the ex- piration of such period. If requested to do so by a police officer, all goods, articles or items sold or delivered to said secondhand and junk dealers which said police officer has reasonable grounds to believe is stolen or contraband or otherwise illegal sales items, must be retained and held an additional thirty (30) days from the date of request, unless sooner released by the police department. SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners it is necessary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake City that this ordinance become effective immediately. SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publication.
