AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 177 of the Traffic Code of Salt Lake
City, Utah, 1965, referred to in Article 9 relating to motor vehicle with
a mounted camper and camper defined, by adding thereto two new subsections
177.3 and 177.4.
Be it ordained:by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Section 17.7 of the Traffic Code of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1965, relating to motor..vehicle with a mounted camper and camper
defined, be, and the, same hereby�are� amended by adding two new subsections
177.3 and 177.4:
Sec. 177.3. Motor vehicle with mounted camper. It shall
be unlawful for any person to operate a motor vehicle with a
camper mounted upon it upon the streets or alleys of this
city, unless the camper mounted on said vehicle is currently
registered, with the appropriate decal attached in plain
sight at the rear of the camper, as provided by state law.
Provided that this ordinance shall not apply to a non-resi-
dent owner of a motor vehicle, which vehicle is currently
registered and licensed in another state and which has an
out-of-state camper mounted upon it.
Sec. 177.4. Camper defined. As used in this section,
"camper" shall mean any structure that contains a floor that
is designed to be mounted on a motor vehicle and is designed
to provide facilities for human habitation or camping, and is
six feet or more in over-all length and five and one-half
feet or more in height from floor to ceiling at any point and
has no more than one axle designed to support a portion of
the weight.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its pub-
lication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
15th day of April, 1976.
