Result AN ORDINANCE
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of
property on Emerson Avenue between Fifteenth and ,ixteenth East
Streets, in Sewer District No. 1 (Sewer Extension No. 391)
for the construction of sewers.
Be it ordained by the board. of Cotanissioners of Stilt
Lake City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the hoard of Commissioners of Salt
Lake City does hereby levy the tax and -bbrovide for the assessment
of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sewer
District No. 1 (Sewer ] tension No. 391) for the construction
of sewers, to-wit:
In Lots 30 to 49,inclusive,of Block 7, Lots 4 to 23
inclusive, of Block 8 University Heights Addition,
Block 12, Five Acre Plat C, abutting on Emerson ;venue between
Fifteenth and Sixteenth East Streets, and to a death of fifty
(50) feet back from said street, and all within the district
bounded on the north by Roosevelt Avenue, on the east by Sixteenth
East Street, on the South by Kensington Avenue and on the west
by Fifteenth East Street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
vitrified pipe sewer eight (8) inches in diameter ueon the por-
tions of said street opposite the property hereinbefore and here-
inafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said.

�$ improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and establish-
ed that said property will be especially benefited thereby to 'i
the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of
land are hereby assessed at an equal and unif®rm rate in accordance
with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said street4
fronting upon and to a depth of fifty (50) feet back therefrom, ;
i and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels
of land is Twenty-one Hundred Eighty-six and 40/100 (4)2186.40)
dollars or one and 738/1000(41.738) dollars per front or linear
1 foot of abutting property, there being Twelve Hundred Fifty-eight
(1258) feet of abutting property iwithin the boundaries of the
lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts, which
is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sewers, accord-
ing to the contract entered into for the performance of said i
work and making said improvement, with Ryberg Brothers, dated t*e
9th day Y of February 1920 and the Treasurer is herebyauthorizd

and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this
q ordinance, for the purpose herein mentioned:
The south side of the east 59.5 feet of Lot 30; the
} south side of Lots 31 to 49 inclusive, both of Block 7; the

of Lots 5 to 23 inclusive, both of Block 8, all in University

j same are shoves upon the official plats of said city to a depth
j of fifty (50) feet back from said street, are. to collect said
tax.
SECTION II. Said tax shall become and be delinquent
in five equal yearly installments, with interest on the whole
1 sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at
the time each installment is due, to-wit: One-fifth thereof
one year after the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for

the payment for such improvement becomes effective; one-fifth
thereof in two years after said ordinance becomes effective;
one-fifth thereof in three years after said ordinance becomes
effective; one-fifth thereof in four years after said ordinance
: becomes effective; and one-fifth thereof in five years after sail
ordinance becomes effective. One or more of said installments,
1 in the order in which they are payable, or the whole special
tax, may be paid at any time within thirty- days after the or-
dinance confirming the levy of the t-;.x becomes effective with-
out interest. In the event of any installment or the interest
aforesaid not being paid on the day the same becomes due, the
whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said install4
ment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and
shall draw interest at the rate of eight par cent per annum
until the sale of the property assessed; provided, one or more
ji
1. installments, in the order in which they are payable, or the
whole special tax unpaid, may be paid on the day any installment
becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest to said
date.
SECTION' III. This ordinance shall take effect one daIT
after its first publication.
