AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 31-13-3 and 31-13-6 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to power and heating
equipment contractors.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah:
SECTION 1. That Sections 31-13-3 and 31-13-6 of the Revised
Ordinances of Salt Lake City, Utah, 1965, relating to power and heating
equipment contractors, be, and the same hereby are, amended to read as
follows:
Sec. 31-13-3. Registration of power and heating equipment
contractor. Fee. Bond. It shall be unlawful for any person
to engage in business as a power and heating equipment con-
tractor in Salt Lake City without first registering his name,
address and state license classification and number with the
power and heating division. All power and heating equipment
contractors who sell or deliver fuel burning appliances or
equipment for use within Salt Lake City but do not install
the same, must be licensed as power and heating equipment
dealers under the provisions of this title. Each such person,
whether an individual, partnership or corporation, required to
register in accordance with this chapter shall pay a registra-
tion fee of ten dollars ($10.00) to Salt Lake City Corporation
for each year, or part thereof, for which he must be registered,
and shall file with Salt Lake City a surety bond in the amount
of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) conditioned that he will
faithfully observe and honestly comply with all laws and ordi-
nances regulating power and heating equipment contractors and
shall indemnify Salt Lake City Corporation and any person
injured or damaged by reason of his failure to so comply with
such laws and ordinances.
Sec. 31-13-6. Registered contractor, Any person licensed
and registered as a power and heating contractor as provided in
this chapter, shall be entitled to construct, install, alter and
repair any power, heating or fuel burning equipment.
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is nec-
essary to the peace, health and welfare of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first publica-
tion.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah, this
12th day of June , 1973.
