An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of the prop-
rty hereinafter described on Sixth South Street between First West
.d State Streets, in Paving District No. 28, for the purpose of
1.roviding for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving there-

Be it ordained by the Gity Connoil of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SWGTIOB 1. That the Gity Council does hereby levy the tax
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinaft=r
described in Paving District Jo. 28, for the purpose of providing
for the grading, guttering and curbing, and paving of a portion o[
said district, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 34; 5 and 6, Block 21; 1 and 2,
Block 33; 5, 6, 7 and 8, Block 22; 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 32; 5 and
6, Block 23,.all in Plat "A", abutting on both sides of Sixth Bout
Street between First West and State Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, gutteri•:
and curbing with cement, and paving with asphalt,(raid asphalt
pavement to be sixty (60) feet wide between curbs, and nine and 1/.
(9-1/2) inches thick), the portion of said Sixth South Street here
inafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said
improvement, and it is hereby ad3udged, determined and established
that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the ful
amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are here
by assessed at an equal and uniform rate in a000rdanoe with the
linear foot frontage upon said portion of said street fronting upo
and to a depth of twentyefive (25) feet back therefrom, and the t
hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is fort -
one thousand five hundred sixteen and 64/100 (441,516.64) dollars,
or ten and 484/1000 (310.484) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for grading, guttering and curbing, and paving
the street above mentioned in Paving District No. 28, there being
3960 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots,

blocks and street above mentioned in said district, which is the
total cost and cost per front foot of said pavement, acoording to
the contract entered into for the performance of said work and
making said improvement, with P. J. Moran, dated the 24th day of
1, ril, 1911, and the Treasurer is hereby authorised and directed
to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for
the purpose herein mentioned:
The south side of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 34; the north side
of Lets 5 and 6, Block 21; the south side of Lots 1 and 2, Block
5$; the north side of Lots 6, 6, 7 and 8, Block 22; the south side
of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, Block 32; the north side of Lots 5 and 6,
Block 23, all in Plat "A", Salt Like City Survey, as the same are
shown upon the official plats of said city to a depth of twenty-
five (25) feet book from said street, and to collect said tax.
SI02IOI 2. Said tax shall bacons and be delinquent in ten
equal *early inatallments, with interest on the whole sum unpaid at
the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each in-
stallment is due, to wit: One-tenth thereof one year after the
approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for small improvement; one-tenth thereof in two years after
such approval; one tenth thereof in three years after such approval;
one.tenth thereof in four years after such approval; one-tenth
thereof in five years after such approval; one-tenth thereof in six
years after such approval; sae-tenth thereof in seven years after
saoh approval; one-tenth thereof in eight years after such approval;
one»tenth thereof in nine years after such approval; and one-tenth
thereof in ten years after such approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, in the order in whioh they are payable, or the whole
special tax, may be paid at any time within thirty days after the
approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax, without
interest. In the event of any installment or the interest afore-
said, not being paid on the date the same beoomes due, the whole

amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and
Aad interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw
interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum until the sale of
the property assessed; provided, one or more installments, in the
order in which they are payable, or the whole specie], tax unpaid,
may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the
amount thereof and interest to said date.
