AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of property
in Paving Districts Nos. 24 and 30 (Curb & Gutter Extension No. 24)
for the purpose of providing for the grading, curbing and guttering
with concrete, constructing drainage system to carry water along and
across streets and intersections, constructing private driveways and
storm sewers.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon
the property hereinafter described in Paving Districts Nos. 24 and 30
(Curb & Gutter Extension No. 24) for the purpose of providing for the
grading, curbing and guttering with concrete, constructing drainage
system to carry water along and across streets and intersections, con-
structing private driveways and storm sewers, to-att:
In Lots 1 to 4 incl. of Blocks 85, 86 and 115; Lots 1,
3 and 4 of Blk. 87; Lots 1, 2 and 3 of Block 112; Lots 2 and 3
of Block 113; Lots 3 and 4 of Blocks 116 and 117; Lots 1 and 2 of
Blocks 135, 136, 137 and 138; Lots 1 and 12 to 24 incl., Grand
View Sub, of Block 110; Lots 1 to 17 incl., Block 1 and 1 to 17
incl., Block 2 of Pratt's Sub, of Block 111; Lots 1 to 24 incl.,
Grand View Sub. of Block 114; Lots 21 to 24 incl. Nob Hill Sub.
of Block 118; Lots 12 and 24, Grand View Sub. of Block 139, all
in Plat D, Salt Lake City Survey and part of Section 32, T.

from K to N Streets, both sides of 8th Avenue from K to M Streets,
both sides of 9th Avenue from H to M Streets, both sides of L and
M Streets and 6th to 9th Avenues and both sides of N Street from
6th to 7th Avenues.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading,
curbing and guttering with concrete, constructing drainage system
to carry water along and across streets and intersections, con-
structing private driveways and storm sewers (said grading to be
thirty-six (36) feet between curbs on both sides of 7th Avenue
from K to N Streets, both sides of 8th Avenue from K to M Streets
both sides of L and M Streets from 6th to 9th Avenues and both
sides of N Street from 6th to 7th Avenues; and forty (40) feet
between curbs on both sides of 9th Avenue from H to ILI Streets) th
portion of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and
hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by
said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and
established that said property will be especially benefited there
by to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels
of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in aoeor
dance with the linear foot frontage upon said portions of said
streets, fronting upon and to the entire depth back therefrom, a

is Thirty-one Thousand Five Hundred Nine and 62/100 ($31,509,62)
dollars; Twenty-one Thousand Four Hundred Thirty-one and 02/100

or linear foot of abutting property for thirty-six foot roadway,
there being 7709 feet of abutting property within the boundaries
of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts
Eight Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-one and 60/100 ($8,951.60)
dollars or Two and 78/100 ($2.78) dollars per front or linear
foot of abutting property for forty (40) foot roadway, there bein:
3220 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots,
blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts; Nine ($9.00)

dollars for private driveway, there being one (1) private drivew y;
Two Hundred Fifty ($250.00) dollars for private driveways, there
being ten (10) private driveways at Twenty-five ($25.00) dollars
for each private driveway; One Hundred Eighty-five ($185.00) dollars
for private driveways, there being five private driveways at
Thirty-seven ($37.00) dollars for each private driveway; Six
Hundred Twenty-four ($$624.00) dollars for private driveways, there
being thirteen (13) private driveways at Forty-eight 618.00)
dollars for each private driveway; Fifty-nine ($$59.00) dollars
for private driveway, there being one (1) private driveway, which
is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said im-
provement, according to the contract entered into for the per-
formance of said work and making said improvement with Moran
Paving Company, dated the 20th day of January, 1922, and the City
Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accor-
dance with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose
herein mentioned:

The south side of Lot 24, Grand View Sub. of Block
110, Plat D, Salt Lake City Survey,as the same are shown upon
the official plats of said city to the entire depth of said
parcels of land and to collect said tax.
SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the city
treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I
of this ordinance in Paving Districts Nos. 24 and 30 (Curb &
Gutter Extension No. 24) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of
providing for the grading, curbing and guttering with concrete,
constructing drainage system to carry water along and across
streets and intersections, constructing private driveways and
storm sewers upon said portion of said streets, is hereby con-
firmed, and the assessments made and returned in said completed
lists, and the report of the Board of Equalization and Review
to the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby rati-
fied, approved and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in five equal
yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interesr
on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same because due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become
due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve
per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
I after its publication.
