AN O R D I S A N O B
An ordinaaoe levying a tax and for the assessment of property on
both sides of all north and south streets from the south side of
South Temple Street to the north side of Third South Street, from
Seoond East Street to Tenth Bast Street, both streets inclusive, in
Paving Districts Nos. 27 and 28, for the purpose of providing for
the eurbing and guttering thereof.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SBCTIOI 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter
described in Paving Districts Nos. 27 and 28, for the curbing and
guttering of pertain streets therein, to-wit:
In Lots 1, 6, 7 and 8, Block 60;1 and 8, Block 53; 1, 6, 7 and
8, Block 46; 4 and 5, Block 59; 2, 3. 4 and 5, Block 64; and 4 and 5,
Block 46, Plat "B", abutting on MU sides of Seventh Bast Street be-
tween South Temple and Third South Streets.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of ourbing and gutter-
ing the portions of said street, opposite the p wperty hereinbefore
land hereinafter deaeribed to be especially affected and benefited by
said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged. determined and 'stabile d
that said property will be espeeially benefited thereby to the full
amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby
assessed at an equal and uniform rate in a000rdanoe with the linear
foot frontage upon said portions of said streets fronting upon and to
a depth of twenty»five (26) feet bask therefrom, and the tax hereby
levied and to be accessed upon said parcels of land is five thousand
three hundred forty-one and 87/100 (115341.87) dollars, or one and
3489584/10,000,000 ($1.3489584) dollars per front or linear foot of
abutting property for curbing and guttering said portions of the
street above mentioned in Paving Districts 27 and 28, there being
3960 feet of abutting property within the boundaries of the lots,
blocks and street above mentioned, which is the total cost and cost

per front footof said ourbing and guttering according to the contract

!ment, with J. D. Hanley, dated the 14th day of September, 1908, and
the Treasurer is hereby authorised and directed to assess in accord-
ance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein

from said street, and to oolleot said tax.
SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in five equ
installments, as follows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after

'the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the
payment for mkt improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after
such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval;
one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth
thereof in five years after such Approval. One or more of said in-
stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after
the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or
more installments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day ally
installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof and interest
to date of payment. Bach of said installments shall bear interest at
; the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval
of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until date of delin-
quency, and eight (8) per cent per annum from delinquency until paid.
SECTION 3. This on:inanoe shall take effect upon approval.
