Green Stewart Mr. Chairman Result AN ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAX and for the assessment of property in Paving District No. 32 (Paving Extension No. 181) for the purpose of grading, constructing concrete curb & gutter (where not already constructed) constructing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and intersections, private driveways, installing water services and sewer connections to back of curbs and paving with bituminous concrete thereof. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, Utah: SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Paving District No. 32 (Paving Extension No. 181) for the purpose of grading, constructing concrete curb and gutter (Where not already constructed) constructing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and intersections, private driveways, installing water services and sewer connections to back of curbs and paving with bituminous concrete thereof, to-wit: In Lots 38 and 1 to 13 incl. of Block 3, Lots 38, 1 to 13 incl. and 19 to 32 incl. of Block 4, Lots 27 and 1 to 10 incl. of Block 5, Lots 11 to 22 incl. of Bloc$ 6, Liberty Heights Sub.; Lots 9 and 12 of Blk. 1, J. K. Shaw's East Islorningside Sub.; and Lots 29 to 49 incl. of Blk. 5, Emerson Heights Add.,all in Block 11, 5-Acre Plat C, Big Field Survey, abutting on both sides of Browning Avenue, 13th to 15th East, both sides of Roosevelt Avenue, 14th to 15thEast in Salt Lake City, Utah. This tax is levied to defray the expense of grading, constructing concrete curb & gutter (where not already constructs ), constructing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and intersections, private driveways, installing water services and sewer connections to back of curbs and paving with bituminous concrete thereof ( said pavement to be tnirty-six (I36) feet (curb and gutter built) on both sides of Browning Avenue, 13th to 15th East and thirty-seven (37) feet (curb and gutter built) on both sides of Roosevelt Avenue, 14th to 15th East) and all o£ said pavement to be five (5) inches thick, two (2) inch bituminous concrete wearing surface on a three (3) inch bituminous concrete base), the portions of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said property will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon and to the entire depth back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is Twenty-two Thous- and Seven Hundred Seventy-one and 33/100 (422,771.33) dollars; Thirteen Thousand Five Hundred Seventy-three and 21/100 (413,573.21) dollars or Four and 67/100 (44.67) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for said thirty-six (36) foot roadway (curb and gutter built), there being 2906.47 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; Six Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-one and. 12/100 (46,981.12) dollars or Four and 80/100 (44.84) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for said thirty- seven (37) foot roadway (curb & gutter built) there being 1454.40 feet abutting said portion of said improvement; Eight Hundred Forty (4840) dollars for private driveways, there being twenty- one (21) private driveways at Forty (540) dollars per driveway; Nine Hundred Forty-three (: 943) dollars for sewer laterals, tnere - 2 - being forty-one (41) sewer laterals at Twenty-three ($23.00) dollars for each sewer lateral; Four Hundred Thirty-four ($434) dollars for water services, there being thirty-one (31) water services at Fourteen ($p14) dollars for each water service, the and the cost of construction of which driv way cost of installing which water services and sewer laterals/and the property benefited thereby is hereinafter set out, and all within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above men- tioned in said district; which is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of said improvement, according to the contract entered i,.nto for the performance of said work and making said improvement with Moran Paving Company, Contractor, dated the 8th day of June, 1922, and the City Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess, in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance, for toe purpose herein mentioned: THIRTY-SIX FOOT ROADWAY, (Curb & Gutter Built) The south side of Lots 38 and 1 to 13 incl. of Blk. 3, the north side of Lots 19 to 32 incl. of Blk. 4, the south side of Lots 27 and 1 to 10 incl. of Blk. 5, and the north side of Lots 11 to 22 incl. of Blk. 6, Liberty Heights Sub. of Blk. 11; the north side of the south 13.74 feet of Lot 9 and the south side of the north 20.26 feet of Lot 12, Blk. 1, J. H. Shaw's E. K. Shaw's E. SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City - 4 - Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of Equalization and Review of the property described in Section I of this ordinance in Paving Extension No. 181 of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of grading, constructing concrete curb & gutter (where not already constructed) constructing drainage system to carry water across and along streets and intersections, private driveways, installing water services and sewer connections to back of curbs and paving with bituminous conorete thereof, is hereby confirmed and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists, and the report of the Board of Equali;aation and Review to the Board of Commissioners of Salt hake City ., are hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION III . Said tax shall be payable in ten,equal yearly installments as provided by law and ordinance with interes, on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum, payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at the time said installment and interest are due, shall become due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
