AN ORDINANCE AMENDING Section 12-1-5 of the Revised Ordinances of
Salt Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to explosives.
Be it ordained by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake City,
Utah, 1955.
SECTiON 1 . That Section 12-1-5 of the Revised Ordinances of Salt
Lake City, Utah, 1955, relating to explosives, be, and the same hereby is,
amended to read as follows:
"Sec. 12-1-5. Explosives not to be stored; or •ermitted to
stand in railway cars or vehicles. It shall be unlawful for any
person to receive, store,or keep, or suffer to remain in any place
within the limits of Salt Lake City any substance having an ex-
plosive power greater than that of ordinary gunpowder, except as
provided in Section 12-1-1 . It is prohibited to,:have or keep any
such explosives in a railroad car or vehicle within the city, unless
said car or vehicle and contents and methods of loading are in
conformity with Interstate Commerce Commission regulations for trans-
porting of explosives, in which case said loaded car or vehicle may
remain within the city limits not exceeding forty-eight (48) hours
in parking space approved by the Fire Marshal ."
SECTION 2. In the opinion of the Board of Commissioners, it is
necessary to the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Salt Lake
City, Utah, that this ordinance become effective immediately.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon its first
publication.
Passed by the Board of Commissioners of Salt ;Lake City, Utah,
this 12th day of - April , 1960.
