An ordinance levying a tax and providing for the assessment of the property hereinafter described abutting on both sides of all wide streets from East Temple Street to Ninth East Street, both streets in- elusive, and from Fourth South Street to Ninth South Street, both streets inclusive, on State Street from Ninth South Street to Tenth South Street, and on streets around Block%5,1Plat !"L", and on all nar' row streets in said district, in Sidewalk:Districts Nos. 9, 16, 20, 1, 22, 30 and 40, for the construction of cement sidewalks. 1,1 Be it ordained by the City Council of.,Salt Lske..City, Utah; SECTION 1. That the City Council doves hereby levy the tax and 1provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk Districts Nos. 9, 16, 20 22, 30 and 40, for the, construction of cement sidewalks, to-wit: In Lots 1, 2, 21 and 22, Block 1, Walker's Subdivision, Blook 5,i lin Lots 1 to 22. inclusive, Block 2, Walker's Subdivision, Block 5; 1 in Lots 1 and 2, Block 3, all in Plat "A"; in Lots 1 to 9, inclusive, ' Hollister's Subdivision of the southwest quarter of Block 4, in Lots 1 to 13, inclusive, Connor's Subdivision of Lots 6 and 7, Block 4, in: Lots 1, 4, 5 and 8, Block 4, and in Lots 2, 3, 6 and 7, Block 13, in Plat "B", abutting on the north side of Ninth South Street between State and Main (formerly East Temple) Streets, and between West Temples and First West Streets, on the south side of Eighth South Street be- tweon West Temple and First West Streets, on the east side of First ' West Street between Eighth South and Ninth South Streets, on both sides of Green Street between Eighth South and Ninth South Streets, Windsor Street, formerly and on both sides ofAOwen Street between Seventh South and Eighth South Streets. This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing cement sidewalks six (6) feet wide and four inches thick upon said portions of said wide streets, and four (4) feet wide and four. (4) ii;ehes thick upon said portions of said narrow streets opposite the property' hers- 59 -2- i�. inbefore and hereinafter described to be especially affeoted and ben-i efited by said improvement, and it is hereby adjudged, determined and; '; established that said property will be especially benefited thereby j++' !Ito the full amount of the tax hereby levied, and said parcels of land; are hereby assessed at an equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said streets fronting upon and to a ; depth of twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby .levied and to be assessed upon said parcels of land is four thousand five hundred ninety and 96/100 ($4,590.96) dollars; two thousand six hundred thirty-seven and 36/100 ($2,637.36) dollars, or one and 11/100 (41.11) dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for sixl ; foot sidewalks, there being 2,376 feet abutting said improvement witht ;din the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts; and one thousand nine hundred fifty-three and 60/100 ($1,953.60) dollars, or 74/100 ($0.74) dollars per front or linear ; foot of abutting property for four four foot sidewalks, there being 2,640 feet abutting said improvement within the boundaries of the lots, blocks and streets above mentioned in said districts, which is the total cost and cost per front foot of said sidewalks according to.. the contract entered into for the performance of said work and making said improvement, with FR I DORLB dated the 9101, day of 11,&$CH , 1908, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned: ii For Six Foot Sidewalks. The south side of Lot 1, the south side of Lot 2, the north side of Lot 21, the north side of Lot 22, Block 1; the north side of Lot 22, the north side of Lot 21, the west side of Lots 2 to 21, inclusive, ; the south side of Lot 1, the south side of Lot 2, Block 2, a7aiker's Subdivision, Block 5; the south side of Lot 1, and the south side of Lot 2, Block 3, all in fiat "A". -3- { For Four Foot Sidewalks. The east side of Lots 1 to 9, inclusive, Hollister's Subdivision of the southwest quarter of Block 4; the west side of Lots 1 to t3, Ilinclusive, Connor's Subdivision of part of Lots 6 and 7, Block 4; the Orient side of Lota 1 and 8, 'and the east side of Lots 4 and 5, Block 14; the east side of% the west 140 feet of Lot t 3, the east side of the west 140 feet of Lot 6, the west side sf the east 140 feet of Lot !ta the, west side of the east 140 feet of,Lot 7,-Black 13, all In Plat "B", Salt Lake city. Surv,ey, as the same are shown- ppn the official Iplats.;of said City to a depth of twenty-five (25) riee t back from said Otreets, and to collect said tax. SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be'deli.ngiiert in five equal installments, as fdllows, to-wit: One-fifth thereof one year after ;the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax for the 1 payment for such improvement; one-fifth thereof in two years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in three years after such approval; one-fifth thereof in four years after such approval; and one-fifth thereof in five years after such approval. One or more of said in- stallments, or the whole tax may be paid on or before ten days after the approval of the ordinance confirming the levy of the tax. One or more inetallments, or the whole special tax may be paid on the day any installment becomes due, by paying the amount thereof arid interest to date of payment. Each of said installments shall bear interest at the rate of six (6) per cent per annum from the date of the approval 4' of the ordinance confirming the levy of said tax until the date of 'i delinquency, and eight (8) per cent per annam fruit•: delineuaacy unt'l paid.
