AN ORDINANCE LEVYING A T.4K and for the assessment of proper-
ty in Sidewalk District No. 44 (Sidewalk Extension No. 217) for the
purpose of constructing concrete sidewalk.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City, Utah:
SECTION I. That the Board of Commissioners of Salt Lake
City does hereby levy the tax and provide for the assessment of the
same upon the property hereinafter described in Sidewalk District No.
44 (Sidewalk Extension No. 217) for the purpose of constructing concrete
sidewalk, to-wit:
Blk. 22;
In Lot 12jand Lots 12 to 21 incl. of Blk. 15, The
5-Acre Plat A,
Main Street Sub. of Blk. 22 abutting on the north side of
Kelsey Avenue from Main to State and the East side of Main
Street, Kelsey to Harvard Avenues.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing
concrete sidewalk five (5) feet wide on the north side of Kelsey
Avenue from Main to State Streets and six (6) feet wide on the east
side of Main Street, Kelsey to Harvard Avenues, both sidewalks to be
four (4) inches thick, the topping to be three-quarters (4) of an
inch thick with three and one-gtarter (34) inch base, upon the portions
of said streets opposite the property hereinbefore and hereinafter
described to be especially affected and benefited by said improvement,
and it is hereby adjudged, determined and established that said proper-
ty will be especially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax

hereby levied and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an
equal and uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontag:
upon said portions of said streets, fronting upon and to the
entire depth back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be
assessed upon said parcels of land is One Thousand Five Hundred
Fifty-four and 15/100 ($1554.15) dollars; Seven Hundred Ninety-
four and 35/100 ($794.35) dollars or One and 56/100 ($1.56)
dollars per front or linear foot of abutting property for said
six (6) foot walk, there being 509.2 feet of abutting property
within the boundaries of the lots, block and streets above men-
tioned in said district and Seven Hundred Fifty-nine and 80/100
($759.80) dollars or One and 31/100 ($1.31) dollars per front cr
linear foot of abutting property for said five (5) foot walk,
there being 580 feet of abutting property within the boundaries
of the lots, block and streets above mentioned in said district,
which is the total abutters' cost and cost per front foot of
said sidewalk, according to the contract entered into for the
performance of said work and making said improvement with Mullins
& Palm, Contractors, dated the 16th day of August, 1922, and the
city treasurer is hereby authorized ard directed to assess in
aocordanoe with the provisions of this ordinance, for the purpose
herein mentioned:

The south side of the north 254.1 ft. of the east 200
feet of the west 266 feet, the south side of the north 254.1 ft. o
the east 165 ft. of the west 471 ft. and the South side of the
north 254.1 ft. of the east 215 ft. of the west 726 ft. of Lot 19,
Block 22, 5-Acre Plat A, Big Field Survey, as the same are shown

upon the official plats of said city to the entire depth of said
parcels of land and to,colleot said tax.
SECTION II. That the assessment list made by the City
Treasurer, as corrected, approved and completed by the Board of
Equalization and Review of the property described. in Section I
of tnis ordinance in Sidewalk District No. 44 (Sidewalk Extension
No. 217) of Salt Lake City, for the purpose of constructing a
sidewalk upon said portion of said street, is hereby confirmed,
and the assessments made and returned in said completed lists,
and the report of the Board. of Equalization ani keview "to the
Board. of Commissioners of Salt Lake City, are hereby rart,ified,

approved and confirmed.
SECTION III. Said tax shall be payable in fire''equal
s
yearly installments as pra;vided by law and ordinance with inter-
est on the whole sum unpaid at the rate of six per cent per annum,
payable at the time each installment is due. In the event any
installment or the interest aforesaid is not paid on the day the
same becomes due, the whole amount of the special tax unpaid at
the time said installment and interest are due, shall become
due and payable, and shall draw interest at the rate of twelve
per cent per annum until the sale of the property assessed.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect one day
after its publication.
