AN ORDINANCE .
An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property
en both sides of R Street from South Temple Street to Fourth Street
in Sewer District No. 1, for the construction of a sewer.
Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah:
SECTION 1. That the City Council does hereby levy the tax and
I provide for the assessment of the same upon the property hereinafter'
described in Lots Nos. 2 and 3, Block 4; 1 and 4, Block 5; 1 and 4,
Block 12; 2 and 3, Block 13; 2 and 3, Block 20; 1 and 4, Block 21;
1 and 4, Block 28; and 2 and 3, Block 29, Plat "G", Salt Lake City
Survey, abutting on both sides of R Street from South Temple Street
to Fourth Street, in Sewer District No. 1, said property having a
frontage of 2640 feet along said street.
This tax is levied to defray the expense of constructing a
vitrified pipe sewer eight inches in diameter upon said portion of
said street opposite the property hereinafter described to be es-
pecially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it is here-
by adjudged, determined and established that the same will be es-
pecially benefited thereby to the full amount of the tax hereby
levied, and said parcels of land are hereby assessed at an equal andj
uniform rate in accordance with the linear foot frontage upon said
portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five
j (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to be as-
sessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand eight hundred and
forty-eight ($1,848.00) dollars, or 70/100 ($0.70) dollars per front
or linear foot, which is the estimated total cost and estimated cost(
per front foot of said sewer, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized;

and directed to assess in accordance with the provisions of this
ordinance for the purpose herein mentioned, all of Lots 2 and 3, 1
Block 4; all of Lots 1 and 4, Block 5; all of Lots 1 and 4, Block
12; all of Lots 2 and 3, Block 13; all of Lots 2 and 3, Block 20;
all of lots 1 and 4, Block 21.; all of Lots 1 and 4, Block 28; aid
all of Lots 2 and 3, Block 29, Plat "G", Salt Lake City Survey, as

the same are sheen upon the official plats of said City to a depth
of twenty-five (25) feet back from said street, and to collect said.

SECTION 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent in six
eqmah installments, as follows, to-wit: One-sixth thereof shall be- .
, come and be delinquent one month after the approval of this ordi-
nance; one-sixth thereof in one year after such approval; one-sixth
thereof in two years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in three
years after such approval; one-sixth thereof in four years after
such approval; and one-sixth thereof in five years after such appro-
val. Each and every installment of said tax except the first, shall
draw interest at the rate of six per cent per annum from date of
levy until delinquent, and each and every installment of said tax
shall bear interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from and
after its date of delinquently.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval.
